We had a lunch here recently with a group of about 40 others. Can't fault it in any way. Our beef and ale pies were full of lovely beef with plenty of gravy and served really hot with a nice crisp pastry on top. The whole meal was delicious. Service was good and our hosts very welcoming. Will return at the first opportunity to this great country pub.

A very nice evening meal offering an interesting and varied choice of dishes prepared using predominantly locally-sourced ingredients. Responsive and helpful waiting staff.

My 65th birthday and an ideal place to celebrate.Lovely people run this veritable watering hole,Norman and Jeanette.Warmly greeted into a cozy atmosphere with the wood burner doing its thing.Chose from the extensive blackboard menu and one item not on it,the devilled kidneys.Wife had the Thai style fishcake.I had the sirloin au poivre and wife had the chicken breast.Service was quick and the food cooked to perfection.I was totally embarrassed when Norman and Jeanette led a chorus of Happy Birthday with the other diners..We cannot fault this place.Beware the car park is uneven. There is disabled access and clean modern toilets. They also have accomodation.

Love this pub, the staff are so friendly, the service great, the food is always of a high standard, plentiful and good to eat. The Sunday lunch is a Carvery with plenty of choice. The gardens on a nice day are fabulous and a pleasure to sit in to enjoy a drink or meal, if it's wet ask for a table in the garden room, very pleasant.

We came here twice on a long weekend in Herefordshire and were very impressed. The food was delicious, plentiful and delightfully unpretentious. On the first visit I had the apple, celery, walnut and cheese filo parcel, followed by the chocolate truffle torte. My husband had the hummus, chickpea and courgette tart, followed by plum crumble with licquorice icecream. Both meals were gorgeous. On the second visit my husband decided to have two starters, the Thai fish cakes and the vegetable soup, followed by the plum crumble again!! (Because he loved it so much). This time with loganberry icecream. I had the Sea Bass in white wine sauce with sauté potatoes and vegetables, followed by the rhubarb and vodka crème brûlée, which I too had with loganberry icecream. Again yummy all round. The great food accompanied by great quality Wye valley ales is a winning combination. The beer garden is so delightful to be in, as the landlady is a keen gardener and it is full of stunning herbaceous perennials and annual plants. Also she grows much of the produce contained in the meals in a vegetable patch near the pub. The landlady and landlord are so friendly too and we had a lovely chat with them. Would thoroughly recommend this pub!!
