“Absolute Bliss”
Reviewed 11 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

The property is well away from civilisation, a haven for peace and tranquility, and perfectly maintained. The weather was fantastic, almost "tropical", and the pool was very welcoming. Stock up with food, beer and wine, grab a good book, fire up the bbq and you won't want to leave. We will definitely be going back.

“Total heaven!”
Reviewed 27 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

The house was beautiful and set in lovely grounds. The rooms were all finished to a high spec. Everything that we needed for a stress free stay was provided.
We stayed there with a group of friends and Couyoula provided the perfect setting to relax and catch up with old friends. The swimming pool was wonderful, very clean and well maintained which is why the frogs lived at the deep end!
There are interesting villages near by, so plenty to see and do if the weather isn't in your favour ( we were very lucky)
Thank you to Couyoula for giving us such a blissful holiday!

“Bliss”
Reviewed 19 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

We are a group of 8 who have holidayed together many times over the years (we used to take the kids as well, we were then a group of 20!) so we know what we need when booking for a large group. Lots of outdoor space including a pool, shady eating areas, enough seating and sunbeds to go round and a secluded setting where there aren't any neighbours to worry about. Inside there needs to be enough beds & bathrooms to avoid sharing and all the rooms need to be a similar standard so no one feels they've been short changed. Kitchen needs to be big enough for lots of people to prepare food without tripping over each other and there needs to be a large, comfy inside space in case of bad weather or cool evenings. You might think this list would be easily satisfied but believe me it isn't! Planning starts with a long list gradually whittled down until we find "the one" which with a bit of luck will be available when we want it. We struck the jackpot with Couyoula, it delivered on every level. The setting was perfect, the house well equipped with everything we needed, the pool, boules & table tennis provided a diversion from the endless loafing around on sun beds and there were plenty of beautiful places to visit when we could motivate ourselves to leave the site. St Antonin, St Cirq La Popopie, Najac & Albi are all just stunningly beautiful. The cave paintings at La Peche Merle (book in advance - easy to do on line & no payment until you collect your tickets) are also worth a visit. To sum up this is a great house in a great location and we had a brilliant week.

“Lovely house in unspoilt French countryside”
Reviewed 17 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

A beautiful house and garden in unspoilt French countryside.
We were a family of 7 with ages ranging from 4 to 70 and we all found it to be a most relaxing holiday in perfect surroundings.
There is something for everyone with a super pool, table tennis and croquet. We particularly enjoyed the floodlit boules area.
Inside the house there is a large fully equiped kitchen and two lounges with satelite TV, plenty of space for everyone.

“Another amazing stay at Couyoula”
Reviewed 15 August 2013 for a stay in July 2013

We have just returned from our third stay at Couyoula. This amazing place will keep us coming back to the house and the area. The owners of the property have done a fabulous job of creating a holiday rental that is furnished to a very high standard and quality, but still feels like a home from home.

It is a great place for families and/or groups of friends to holiday together. It is very spacious and even when in a large group there is plenty of room to comfortably accommodate everyone. This year, we were there with two sets of friends for the first week and a friend and family members for the second week. In the middle we had a couple of days where the friends from the first week, were still there when the second weeks guests arrived. A total of 7 adults all comfortably accommodated. We were all able to do our own thing during the day and come together at main meal times to eat together.

The outside areas are as practical and usable as the inside of the house. The pool area is a good size with access in and out by Roman Steps. There are plenty of loungers and umbrellas provided around the pool area and inflatables are available for children to play with. There are two outside eating areas. One located close to the pool and BBQ and the other located outside of the kitchen area, on an external balcony. Both tables are good for eating your main meals at and can comfortably accommodate 8 people around each.

The setting of the property provides a very peaceful and quiet retreat. It has no neighbouring properties. You will occasionally catch site of the local farmer who farms the land surrounding the property and who is also very friendly.

If staying for two weeks or more, a cleaner will come in and do a bed linen change (usually on the Saturday). The cleaner and her husband are very friendly and do a very good job of keeping the house in order for the owners. There is also a gardener, who usually turns up on a Saturday morning, to keep the garden in order and to clean the pool. He is also very friendly. At the time of writing this review, both the cleaner and the gardener are English ex-pats, who themselves have located to the south of France.

The property is very well located for a number of surrounding towns and villages. Some of the smaller villages can be reached on foot, if you don't mind a 20-30 min walk. Further afield, you will probably want to go by car or possibly bicycle. The main towns of Villefranche-de-Rouergue, Caylus, Caussade, St Antonin-Noble Val and Najac each have amazing markets on different days of the week. They are also each just worth a visit to look around, have a bite to eat and waste away some time people watching. Details of all the market days and visiting and eating recommendations are available in a detailed information file that is provided at the property. The visitors book also contains a lot of recommendations from previous guests.

We could not recommend this property any more highly. I always sink into a slight depression when I have to leave and it takes a couple of days to re-adjust when you return to your own actual home. That has to be the sign of a holiday property that has really allowed you to relax and de-stress.
