Owner description: Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary (pronounced “Bon-a-rong” - Aboriginal meaning “Native Companion”) was established in 1981 as a sanctuary for injured and orphaned wildlife and is Tasmania's most popular wildlife park. At Bonorong you will see native animals which are extinct everywhere but Tasmania such as the famous Tassie Devil, Tasmanian Bettong, Eastern Quoll and Tasmanian Pademelon. You will also see favourites like wombats, koalas, kangaroos, possums, lizards, native birds and so many more. The animals of Bonorong are loved and cherished by all of the staff here at the Park and we are sure you will love them too!

We went to the Bonorong Sanctuary today. We paid $60 for 2 people to get in. We went there especially to see the Tasmanian devils. WE DID’NT SEE ANY DEVILS AT ALL, AS THEY WERE NOT COMING OUT OF THEIR BURROWS. What a total waste of time and money. The whole place is mediocre. We left after staying only about 10 minutes. My honest advise to everyone, don’t bother going there. Now how this pace is getting a lot of favourable reviews is beyond my comprehension.

Hi TrueReview2008

Thanks for the feedback.

We always try to make sure that our guests get to see a Tasmanian Devil on their visit. Normally if the devils aren't so active we're happy to take people down to the bottom section where we have more devils who may be out and about, which our staff would have offered to do for you at the end of the tour. Unfortunately, when someone starts swearing towards our staff (as in this instance), then any extra help is ceased straight away.

Bonorong is a Sanctuary and maybe it was not what you expected, however as you will see from our other reviews most people are well aware of the experience we provide. Thanks for taking the time to review and have a good day.

Our guide Matt was very friendly and informative on the drive too and from the sanctuary. Great afternoon and would highly recommend, this is a small but highly interactive park. Up close and feeding the free roaming roo's was the highlight to our visit.
