The hotel didn't have everything you would expect from a fancy hotel, the simple things like decent Shampoo and Conditioner in the bathroom, pen and paper in the room. And Wifi is only available in reception area. Most tours depart around 6.00am however the hotel doesn’t start serving breakfast until 7.00am. If you are lucky there may be coffee available in reception but it wasn't there every day.

Lovely rooms - very quiet. Good swimming pool. Lovely breakfast. Good check-in. Felt very safe. Clean rooms & nice bathroom. Weather was very hot and humid. Beautiful gardens. Unable to have tea or coffee in the bar.

For a high end hotel (Mexico standards), this hotel does not rate.

- rooms clean and comfortable
- too many unnecessary processes; eg. had to go to reception to get a ticket for a pool towel and then having to return the ticket back to reception after returning the towel to the pool bar.
- restaurant was average. Caters for foreigners, but limited selection; only one of the six listed deserts on the dinner menu was available (ice cream)
- no smoking anywhere in the hotel grounds; including outdoor areas.
- staff service was average. For a hotel that caters to foreigners, they were arrogant.

A visit to Palenque in October is hot and humid. It was nearly 40 degrees and very humid the day we visited which we were assured was typical of this time. This did not stop the staff from being very friendly and helpful. The restaurant doubled as the bar leading up to dinner. The internet only worked in the lobby and bar. The pool was nice but not cool, as you would expect with constant hot days. The room was clean however the air conditioning dripped on the tile floor all night as it struggled to cool the air in the hot and humid conditions.

Nice pool, room and restaurant. But if you are the sort of traveller who needs to be connected to wifi all the time, this place is not for you. Wifi is only available in the non-airconditioned lobby, where you will need mosquito repellant to dwell on the internet.
