Wow! We just enjoyed the mid-week winter special at Jackalope, and the experience was fantastic. From a moment we were greeted by Mitch at reception, through to our departure the following morning (thanks Cecilia!), we found the staff to be universally warm, friendly and super helpful.

We chose to stay in one of the vineyard rooms overlooking the pool and the vines that supply the grapes for the Willow Creek winery that's also onsite there. Our room was large and comfortable, but if you want even more space, and an open fire in your room, there are two larger suites, each called the "Lair". Maybe next time.
But for an overnight stay our standard balcony room was perfect.

Henry Royce (as in Rolls Royce) is said to have remarked that perfection is a matter of small things, but perfection is not itself a small achievement. And it's the small things that really make Jackalope stand out. On returning from an amazing dinner at the excellent Dootdootdoot restaurant, I found that Aimee in housekeeping had noticed I was using an old business card as a bookmark in the novel I'm reading. During our turndown service, she had replaced it with a fantastic matt black Jackalope bookmark ... and left my scraggy old business card on the bedside table so I wouldn't lose it. I've stayed in a lot of 5-Star establishments over the years, but that is a first for me.

In terms of amenities, the rooms are well laid out with comfy beds, a sofa, good sized showers with strong water pressure, and suitably hot water. There's also a huge bath (for two) and a large desk area if you need a space to check emails etc...
Oh, and the Bose bluetooth sound system makes it easy to play your own music with enviable sound quality.

Room Tip: The rooms overlooking the vineyard offer the best views, and some stunning sunsets.

Eeek where do I start. We came for a mini honeymoon and were not disappointed. Our entire experience was faultless. The only complaint I had was we had to leave at the the end of our stay!

The staff were exceptional, friendly, and went above and beyond. The room was incredible. We loved every minute.

Sensational the best Hotel Restaurant in Victoria
On entering your memorized by the view
Entering Doot Doot Doot via the Hotel entrance what you see is a WOW factor
Everywhere you look you say to yourself I want this I want that too.
The wine display walking through to the restaurant is amazing.
The restaurant itself is decked out with the most amazing design of furniture the staff professional as six star service.
The food a set menu and plenty of it the house made bread is the best

Stayed here over the June long weekend without realising it was the Winter Wine Weekend. All wineries and restaurants were fully booked however thankfully we had already booked dinner for the 2 nights we were at Jackalope.
Blown away by the amazing design and architecture of the buildings and the great service from all of the staff.
The room was an extremely good size with a lounge area to sit and relax, a balcony with chairs and table to soak in the view as well as a work area if needed (why work when you can sit and enjoy a drink from the free minibar).
We had no issues with the quirky nature of the bathroom (all walls are glass however there is a blind if you want privacy from your partner). All room amenities are well thought out and the room is a great place to sit and relax.
We ate at both Doot Doot Doot and Rare Hare and enjoyed the food and service in both. Unfortunately we had to endure sitting next to a couple of ladies at Rare Hare who complained to the waitress about the attentive service - apparently being ready to serve all your needs and not have to wave down a waiter/waitress for service is not good enough - cant believe that someone would complain in the way that these two ladies did - surely you can just ask for another 5-10minutes and then wait for the staff to return and take you order.
We had an amazing time at Jackalope and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone that is willing to pay a little more than average for somewhere unique that offers good attentive service with great food and booze.
Would go back in a flash!

Room Tip: Vineyard Rooms are a Must

Nice place to drink a few pints of Melbourne

Feel like it’s a party every day

Love getting deleted here and having a few SFS and watching the Melbourne party

Come along and enjoy the party

Not sure what else I can say other than fresh Melbourne cans in the fridge make me party
