Location - not right in the centre of Florence, but close to the main shopping streets and the Gucci museum and a 15 minute or so walk to the station. Tiny street, which was blocked to traffic at both ends when we arrived, which created a problem for the taxi dropping us off.
The apartment - it is in a very old building, on the second floor, up 47 steps, yes, I was counting. Steps matter when you have luggage. The apartment itself is fitted out with everything you need and includes a washing machine. The bathroom is quite modern. The living room/kitchen gets its light from a window opening into the bedroom.
Access to the apartment - the cleaner let us in a little early and ran through what we needed to know. There is a booklet of helpful information re some of the appliances and Florence, but could be enhanced with additional information on how to use the stovetop and the washing machine, the controls of which are in Italian, of course. An English translation of these would be good. There is a drying rack for damp clothes.
All in all, a good apartment for one or two people, but a little dark during the day. This didn't matter much as the day time is made for exploring Florence.
