“Took my breath away...such a beautiful relaxing place”
Reviewed 25 September 2017 for a stay in September 2017

Communication was brilliant with Francesca on booking and with details of how to get to Sucuraj. We were met at the ferry port by Vlado (her father in law) as we had hired a car. He came over and greeted us as we drove off the ferry and was so lovely warm and friendly. We now know why we were met at the ferry because the villa would have been a bit difficult to find if we had driven on our own, however once the journey was done it was very easy to find afterwards - and the small town, as advised by Vlado was only a couple of minutes walk from the villa as well as the beach!
We stayed in the top floor apartment with a spectacular 360 degree panoramic view of the sea. It was truly breathtaking to sit on the balcony and just look at the stunning vista out in front of you. We spent most evenings sitting on the balcony watching the boats going by, the sunrise and the sunsets even a dramatic storm complete with lightening. If you need to relax then this truly is the place to be. Vlado showed us around the apartment - as a nice welcoming touch, the fridge was stocked with essentials such as eggs, butter, milk juice, beer and wine. There was also a very beautiful cake waiting for us. Vlado also supplied us with plenty of delicious homegrown figs. The bed was very comfortable and the shower powerful and plenty of hot water. The apartment was spotless and equipped with everything you could possibly need including a great choice of books, games and dvds. Beach umbrellas, chairs and beach mats all provided too. The beach was only a few minutes walk away and we were often the only people there. The sea was beautifully clear and warm however sea shoes are a must as getting into the water with bare feet was painful, difficult and slippery. Loads of silvery fish swimming around in full view including very close to the surface.
We drove to Hvar town on a very narrow winding road which took us about an hour and half. We didn't do the journey back the same day as the road is quite tricky with steep drops and no street lighting. We booked a room in Hvar overnight instead. We also drove to Dubrovnik and stayed overnight which was great but I couldn't wait to get back to the peace and quiet of Villa Palma.
Loads of choice of restaurants and food very reasonably priced, beer is very very cheap compared to Dubrovnik. There is so much I could carry on and say but I think you will need to see for yourselves how gorgeous this place is....oh and we also saw a snake about a foot long slithering along a wall next to the villa gate. It was more scared of us as it quickly disappeared into,a hole in the wall...I must admit I did tread very carefully especially at night time just in case it made a further appearance!!!
I was sad to leave at the end of our holiday and we were already planning the date of our return before we turned the key in the lock for the last time....xx

“Secluded clean modern apartment with an excellent host”
Reviewed 14 July 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Myself and my two children had the most fantastic time in Villa Palma looked after by Vlado, Tom and Francesca. We received a warm welcome from Vlado and were overcome with the beauty of the place. Relatively undeveloped for Hvar , Sucuraj is just starting the transition to become a tourist area, but this means it is a great time to visit as there is enough here without the crowds. The apartment is a little difficult to find, but basically you need to get onto the other side of the harbour and if in a car you need to go out on the road to the lighthouse and follow it round till you reach the 2nd turning on the left. Then up the hill and there is a sharp right by the top houses then down a little dirt track. Some roads on the island are a bit rough so be careful.
We were welcomed with some nice essentials in the fridge including a welcome beer for dad! The apartment has very nice views and was modern and clean. An easy walk into the harbour area and rocky beaches all around. If you are taking children in the sea on the rocks watch out for sea urchins as there are a lot around. The sea was beautifully warm and we spent many days snorkelling about. Perna inlet was nice if a little tricky to reach but the sea there is magnificent. All the restaurants were great and I recommend the red wine! There is just so much to say that is good about this place. I just hope we can come back and say Hi again to Vlado as unfortunately he was taken ill when we were there so we only had a few beers together. Tom took over and was a great host and told us all that was happening. We wish you a speedy recovery Vlado.
Ps thanks for the olive oil and figs they are superb. I will send you the group photo Tom

Maybe we can come again next year?

All the best

Top holiday

Regards

Will

“Excellent! Pleasant, relaxing stay with fantastic attention to detail.”
Reviewed 23 June 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Sucuraj was a lovely, relaxing place away from the hustle and bustle of Hvar, Split and Dubrovnik which were the other places we visited. Sucuraj is about an hour - 1.5 hour taxi ride from Hvar town and was a pleasant journey. Francesca was so helpful before our arrival and answered all our many questions quickly and with lots of detail. Vlado was the perfect host. The apartment was well laid out and comfortable and the balcony was great with the sea view. Perfect location for the apartment only 200m from the village. The village is very small and not necessarily suited to those seeking a party atmosphere but if you're looking for authentic Croation culture to relax in you will find it here. The beach is close by and was very nice with a little bar for refreshments.

The attention to detail and friendly people really made Villa Apartments stand out from all the rest we've stayed in. The welcome hamper included fresh cherries, milk, wine, bread and we were presented with a very thoughtful gift to celebrate our honeymoon, this was much appreciated. Games, books, wifi and even candles, slippers and bug blasters really highlight the attention to detail you can expect here. We would highly recommend Villa Palma Apartments for a thoroughly relaxing break with very friendly hosts.

Thank you - can't wait to come back one day.

“stunning apartment with amazing views”
Reviewed 20 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Stayed at Villa Palma with my husband and two sons 11 and 15, what a beautiful and relaxing week we had.
From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble for our hosts Francesca and Tom. We were made to feel very welcome from the start. Tom kindly met us at the ferryport as we hadn't hired a car and Francesca greeted us at Villa Palma with a much needed lovely bottle of home produced wine.
Villa Palma is stunning with amazing views from the balcony and even the bathroom!
It has everything you need for a self catering holiday it is well equipped and very stylish and modern.
The apartment is a credit to Francesca and her family.
Lazy days were spent on the nearby beach with amazing views and crystal clear water,
snorkel gear and water shoes are a must.
We also spent time at the beach in town about a 10 minute walk away and a little busier than the local beach.
The evenings were spent at the marina at the restaurants, where there is plenty of choices for everyone pizza, fish, meat etc.
Sadly after a couple of days we had to say goodbye to Francesca, Tom and their lovely son Luca (who is such a character) and say hello to Tom's father Vlado who once again was so welcoming and friendly, sharing a drink with my husband and giving us a bag of his amazing figs.
Vlado even arranged the hire of a boat for us for the day which I would highly recommend.
All in all we had a fabulous holiday with vey friendly and welcoming hosts, Vlado even dropped us at the ferryport at 6 in the morning on the day of our departure.
Nothing was ever too much trouble and we will definately return to Villa Palma!
Only negative is we were unable to load our suitcase with their home produced wine (of which we drank plenty).
