Very well maintained farm house. No traffic to worry about, just peace and a few church bells from the near by village (no shops). To find any where to eat you have to travel about 15-20 mins. Also good shops about the same distance. But you cannot have serenity and nearby shops. If you love the beach and being in the throng this is not the place for you. If you like nature, peace and quite and walking this would suite you sir.
Just got back from spending a week in the farmhouse and we really enjoyed our time there. The house is comfortable and clean with plenty of space. Most mornings we enjoyed breakfast on the terrace listening to the birdsong whilst enjoying views of the valley and snow capped mountains beyond.
The owner, Ramon, was very helpful and informative. When the internet stopped working, he came out within a few hours to get it working again.
We took a day trip to Barcelona which is about an hour and a half by car. It can prove daunting to drive in the city especially if you are used to driving on the left! And parking can be difficult to say the least. We chose to park the car at the airport and get the train in. Tickets are easy to buy at the automatic machines. Use Passeig de Gracia station to alight as it is close to the centre. If visiting the gothic cathedral be prepared to queue to get to view the interior or perhaps get there very early!
There are two michelin star restaurants within easy driving distance of the house but be aware that when we were there in early June they only opened in the evening at weekends. They open for lunch on most days.
Overall we had a great time and will definitely be back.
