“What a lovely surprise”

We had planned for a few days during our NZ tour to enjoy the Nelson area. This lovely cottage was surprisingly spacious. Elspeth took time to help us to settle in quickly and let us know more about the area. We particularly enjoyed the nearby Mapua Wharf and the restaurants there. A lovely touch was the good quality towels and bed linen. I also loved the hand made lavender soap!! A peaceful and relaxing few days. Many thanks.

“Superb in every way”

Miro Cottage is a former apple-pickers cottage in what is now a wine-producing area.
The cottage has recently had some refurbishment work including new kitchen equipment, new flooring and a new bathroom suite. The owner was very friendly and helpful, and gave us some good tips as to places to visit. Mapua wharf is only a few minutes drive away and Motueka is also quite near.
The views from Miro are lovely and its especially good for bird life. We saw lots of herons out on the estuary, Tuis, fantails, the occasional hawk and shag and other birds. Breakfast on the deck was a treat and the cottage's aspect makes an evening meal in the sunshine also possible. A generous hospitality tray is provided upon arrival but no milk, so remember to bring your own. There is a Four-Square in Mapua and so obtaining supplies is easy.
Looking forward ton our next visit!

“Hidden gem with amazing location for quiet retreat for day tripping into Abel Tasman.”

Had a fantastic stay in late October at Matahua cottages. Super clean and cute and well appointed with just 5 min drive to Mapua wharf restaurants. Enjoyed the deck and view over the bay ideal for sipping wine after active trekking day in Abel Tasman. Just off main road and easy to get to from Nelson or anywhere really. Also loved staying somewhere that feels removed but not at all inconvenient to get to.
