Boasting one of the most surreal views and idealistic settings one could imagine, it's a great pity that lackluster service and a muddled offering bring down the value of a trip to the Terrace Coffee Shop.

R42 for a sandwich. Two toasted pieces of bread with a bland filling. No side salad on the plate-unless you consider a salad to be four slithers of carrot and a finger nail sized piece of red pepper a salad. No chips of any kind accompanying the little sandwich. Puzzling.

Distortion in drink prices also mind boggling.

I recommenced the cakes and coffee. A safe bet. Delicious.

Note to future patrons - Sit at a table in direct line of site of staff or at least in their most traveled path to avoid being forgotten about.

Great views, Delicious teas and cake and in fact all food is good. Interior is a little tired but clean. Good place for a Sunday tea

I wish wish wish that this coffee shop would use some of the artisanal breads and make their menu more exciting. It is without a doubt one of the finest situations for a restaurant in Cape Town and it is sad that it should languish so far behid in the food stakes!
Here you can pick your own roses, which is lovely, they are trying to get a small organic market going on weekends, again, I hope it takes off... perhaps the food at the Cafe would perk up then. They sell Hanepoot grapes in season, and delectable Olive Oil too. So, yes, worth a visit, definitely, but do encourage them to try harder with their food offerings!

A friend from Cape Town suggested this venue for lunch and I was delighted with the location. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Chart Farm on a glorious hot day sitting under a shady trees overlooking the farmland in the Constantia Valley with its beautiful backdrop of mountains. The menu was moderately priced and offered a tasty selection of light lunches and delicious home baked cakes. Our experience there was memorable and will definitely return when I visit Cape Town again.
Its the perfect place to celebrate a birthday or spoil someone to something special!
Roses are available to pick & purchase and a small kiosk sells seasonal farm produce.
