“Suited us down to the ground.”
Reviewed 13 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

The house was clean and tidy and was convient to Melrose as we are a frequent visitors to the area. The arrival pack was a wonderful gesture. The bed was comfortable and good night sleep and recovery from the day's activities was achieved. Such as climbing Rubers Law, trip into Edinburgh, visit to HMY Britannia, after walking the length of Leith Walk. An evening stroll in Melrose was easy via the Chain link bridge. The neighbours were friendly and chatty not too bad a thing, in this day and age. Fully recommend September Cottage as a base for touring the Borders.

Thank you for taking the time to give us a review. We are pleased you climbed Ruberslaw as the views are truly wonderful. The new railway makes getting into Edinburgh easy and great that you tried it out. We hope you will come back again. Stephanie

“A lovely conttage”
Reviewed 4 July 2017 for a stay in June 2017

We really enjoyed our time at September Cottage - it was warm, quiet, comfortable, and well-provided with books! Stephanie left out a lovely 'welcome pack' of goodies for us. We enjoyed exploring the Borders - Melrose is a wee jewel of a place. We had a great day at Abbotsford, and managed to climb half-way up the Eildon Hills. We visited other Border towns - we liked Kelso, Peebles, and Jedburgh - we appreciated the 'audio tour' of the Abbey there, and had soup and sandwiches in the Abbey View Cafe and Bookshop. We also enjoyed the cafe in the Main Street Trading Company's bookshop in St Boswell's, which also has a great collection of books (but it's closed on Mondays!) So yes, it was a good stay. Thank you very much Stephanie! :-)

“Return visit”
Reviewed 18 April 2017 for a stay in April 2017

This was our second visit to this cottage, we love the area and the cottage is very homely and the welcome hamper is a great touch. There is so much to see in the area all the border towns and the walks along the Tweed. We visited Seasons restaurant twice in the week, it is one of the best restaurants I have eaten in, food is excellent. The cottage is very well equipped and so comfortable. We will return.

“A very quiet place on walking distance from Melrose”
Reviewed 17 January 2017 for a stay in May 2016

The house is very cosy, comes fully equipped and has a lot of parking space. The neighbours were friendly, but a wee bit noisy every now and then. The kitchen was comfortable as was the living room. It is a compact house, but perfect for a few days in exploring Melrose & area. The nearby restaurant "Hoebridge Inn" comes highly recommended!
