Description: A Country Pub that serves Freshly cooked Meals using fresh local produce whenever possible. Open log fire and log burner, original wooden flooring in bar area, a great selection of real ales, Childrens play area and games for children - big or small! To play with inside the building or bigger versions to take outside. Friendly Staff and great chefs. Main Menu, Lite bite lunchtime menu and 2 curries changed weekly. Takeaways available upon request. Gluten free, celiac etc meals available, speak to a member of staff.6 Real Ales, ice cold draught lagers and guinness and a great selection of Wines. Come and visit, you will not be disappointed. We are also dog friendly in the bar area.

What a cracking pub. The atmosphere is fantastic and the welcome from the staff was great. Such a pleasant, vibrant space. Everything was spotless and shinning and the menu was extensive with goodies to suit all tastes and dietary requirements and all at a very reasonable price. We had gluten free fish and chips which was as good as you will get anywhere and a stuffed chicken breast with a selection of fresh vegetables. We will certainly be back for more and I can't wait to try the Sunday lunch. When traveling it is refreshing to get a good welcome when you have not been able to previously book. There is another inn close by down a side road and the owners of that should certainly take a leaf out of The Red Lion book.

Just moved to the area and was after some good food and this is what we got and then some, excellent service and host very friendly. Will definitely recommend!!

We was at the Red lion 2 weeks ago and had a lovely time there, great food, service, well worth a visit

We eat here regularly, very good food and especially the fish and chips including excellent Gluten free version. We highly recommend this pub.

had a lovely sunday lunch here y'day - we used to visit often on a sunday but our meetings now sunday afternoon normally so it was great to visit again - staff hard working and well trained and food esp. veg. delicious.
