“Performance Yachting at it's best.”

I Chartered Baby Tonga for the Phuket King's Cup Regatta in 2014. The owner delivered her to Phuket for the regatta and she was in great shape for racing with a great set of laminate race sails, a powerful spinnaker and good deck gear. Over the seven days, she performed very well and my crew of 14 had a great regatta. Keen sailors will enjoy this superb yacht if taking up the sailing option. With a generator, air-con and dive gear, she would be a fantastic luxury yacht for a cruise through the Andaman Sea Islands.

“Fabulous 3 day trip on Baby Tonga”
Reviewed 16 April 2015 for a stay in October 2014

Six of us spent 3 excellent days on board Baby Tonga in October 2014. She is not in her first youth, but has been maintained to a standard (brand new engine and good quality sails etc) that made cruising her in the beautiful waters around Lankawi a joy. Where deficiencies occurred her excellent boat boy (compulsory, discreet and well worth while) improvised and made things work. Accommodation is good with 3 comfortable double cabins ex the saloon, (we only really went below to sleep) but it is her sailing performance where she really shines. Baby Tonga sails like a witch! Unfortunately we only had light breezes but even then she still flew. Such a shame we couldn't have put her through her paces in a good blow, she'd be great. Saffron's coordinating agent in a Lankawi could not have been more helpful, with airport transfers arranged and also the flexibility of extra nights on board at the start and finish of the trip to take account of our travel plans. Overall an excellent few days!

“First time at the Andaman Sea”
Reviewed 14 April 2015 for a stay in August 2013

The Andaman Sea always sounded to me very exotic.... It is a body of water to the southeast of the Bay of Bengal, south of Burma (Myanmar), west of Thailand, north-west of Malay Peninsula, north of Sumatra and east of the Andaman Islands, India. It is part of the Indian Ocean. This sea hosts many vulnerable fauna species, including a very rare Dugong (only about 150 left).
I had the very first chance to join on the Baby Tonga sailing at this incredibly warm, crystal clear waters, back in August 2013, with few friends celebrating birthday. We have decided to explore the area out of Langkawi, Malaysia towards the Koh Lipe Island in Southern Thailand (about 4-5 hrs away). Although August can still have some typhoons, we had the whole time blue skies and super amazing weather. Secondly, being off season, there were no crowds at the beaches and the resorts whereas we stopped at the Koh Lipe Island. We were snorkeling and saw colorful fish. I was mesmerized by this whole experience, as being a very first time on the open ocean waters and unsure of such new surroundings - as what to expect. The Boat manager and Captain were familiar with the area and extremely professional. I was at ease at no time and thoroughly enjoyed my very first sailing o Baby Tonga, from Malaysia to Thailand.
The Baby Tonga is a spacious, comfortable, very stable and well balanced yacht. You immediately realize that fact, as this yacht is well known, not only for great cruising, but especially in the yacht racing community, as she won several regattas' prizes and is often booked for racing too.
Since then, I have already returned 4 more times back, to continue to explore this incredible part of the world. You will be amazed where you can get when you have a yacht!
Just to name a few incredible islands not to miss - Koh Lebon Le, Ko Muk, Ko Petra, Kolanta, Tarutao, Koh Rok etc. Something that I always wanted to tick off on my personal Bucket List.
Thanks to the captain and the skipper for making this possible and providing us with the unforgettable, one of the best holidays.
Baby Tonga Ahoy !
