Wonderful hotel, staff are amazing and so kind and attentive.
Wherever you eat, the quality really is outstanding, so much choice and variety.
Pool or beach, lifeguards always on hand, as are the support staff, always there with a smile and chat but never intrusive.

OMG - you will not be disappointed - one of the best hotels and in an incredible location with outstanding service and incredibly friendly staff that just want to make your stay the best ever.
Mostafa / Tarek and the team make the dream work and when Said comes round the pool everyday with your cold drinks cooler and cleans your glasses for you - you feel on top of the world and know you are in safe hands.

The situation of the hotel is fantastic with wonderful views on all sides. It is an oasis of calm but only half an hour from Muscat and all that the city has to offer.
The design of the hotel is beautiful and there are so many places to relax that you never feel that you are in a large resort. We like the Bea h area and spent most of our days there where the water is clean and the views of the rock formations are spectacular. The restaurant by the beach is also a very pleasant spot for lunch.
The cocktail hour in the courtyard is a real plus in a country where alcoholic drinks are highly priced. The staff are attentive and make sure noon one is left with an empty glass.
The hotel is wearing its age well and the bedrooms are exceptionally comfortable if a little old fashioned now. My only comment would be that the occasional furniture in the room is not particularly comfortable. It would be much better to replace the tiny two seater sofa with a couple of comfortable armchairs which could face either into the room or out.
Breakfast is hugely enjoyable with a super selection of healthy and tasty middle eastern dishes. Eating on the terrace and looking out on the sea is a great way to start each day.
We have already booked to go back next year. It’s just perfect resort for us.

Have just returned from The Shangri-La Al Husn Muscat. We have been visiting this hotel for many years and we have never been disappointed. The hotel has many things to recommend it - the rooms are spacious, comfortable and serviced beautifully. The mini bar is stocked with complimentary soft drinks, beer and snacks. The pool area is spacious and well maintained - staff supply cool boxes with water and soft drinks which are restocked frequently. Cold towels are also provided. Complimentary afternoon tea is served at Sultanah restaurant every afternoon and pre dinner drinks and canapés which are served in the courtyard (with unobtrusive entertainment) are a perfect start to the evening. Breakfast is particularly good with both a varied cold buffet and an extensive hot menu with daily chefs recommendations. Everything is of the highest quality. There are two restaurants in the hotel itself - Sultanah serving European food and Aangan by Rohit Ghai an exceptional Indian restaurant. Guests can also use the restaurants at the sister hotels so have the choice of a fish restaurant, an Italian restaurant and a South Asian restaurant all of which are of a very high standard. There is also a buffet restaurant (which we didn't try). In room dining is also available and both the food and service are excellent.
All these things make The Al Husn the perfect choice for a relaxing holiday but what sets this hotel apart from others is the staff. It is hard to single out individuals but special mention must be given to Narayan (pool) Jerome, Varun ,Sheena and her colleague (Sultanah) Samim (housekeeping) and Nishant (in room dining) - their attentiveness was exceptional. The other thing that is unusual about this hotel is the visibility of the managers who are always available and happy to receive feedback on all aspects of the hotel. We are already looking forward to our next visit to the Al Husn
