I came to Chapala for my friends destination wedding. The hotel is very beautiful and most importantly it’s safe. They lock the gate during the night. The staff is great they are all friendly. Thank you Mauricio, Joaquin, and Raul!

We stayed at Hotel Villa San Francisco for 2 weeks in March 2018. Everyone there were very nice and wanted to make sure that we were comfortable. Our room was on second floor with a private balcony overlooking the gardens. We had a wonderful breakfast every morning. The location was close to everything, in walking distance. We had a car and parked in front and there were no problems. We will return.

We're glad to hear your stay was so satisfying. Yes, our staff aims to please! And wasn't our weather just about perfect? This time of year, with all the blooming trees, is as delightful as Spring anywhere. You picked a good time to visit and we look forward to your return.

My trip to the Lake Chapala area was with a friend who is investigating a move there. We selected Hotel Villa San Francisco after reading a number of reviews on TripAdvisor and other sites. One never knows if the online photos and reviews will live up to expectations--I'm pleased to say that our expectations were exceeded. The property is beautiful, the rooms each have a theme and are roomy and clean and the staff were very accommodating. The hotel's location is right next to the lake and has easy access to transportation, restaurants and bars. The only issue was that we were there the week before Mardi Gras/Ash Wednesday so there was a carnival literally right outside the hotel and the partying went on until the wee hours of the morning. Thanks to the accommodating staff, we were able to move to a room on the backside of the hotel which helped decrease the noise somewhat. I would highly recommend Hotel Villa San Francisco and a visit to this fantastic area of Mexico.

My friend and I came to Lake Chapala not knowing it was Carnival!! This hotel is right across from the Malecon (great location), but right across from carnival rides. Music went on until 1:30, but we were facing the lovely garden and were able to sleep. It is just a beautiful hotel--lobby and the rooms are so tastefully decorated. They serve a delicious breakfast which is included in their very reasonable prices. Would definitely return!!!

The Hotel is a restored Mansion just steps away from the Malecon or boardwalk of lake Chapala. The Malecon is lively with many Mexican families enjoying their weekends walking along the boardwalk. The hotel itself is small with about ten rooms. Each room is different with different names. Some have quaint little balcony's. All rooms offer a cooked breakfast from 8-11 AM which is served on the front terrace. We stayed two nights and in two different rooms and were very satisfied with the price and the rooms. All rooms come with free WiFi and cable TV but very few English speaking channels but that ok because we spent very little time in the room. There many shops and restaurants along the boardwalk or Malecon as the locals call it We enjoyed the Mexican seafood restaurants at the end of the Malecon which is a huge two storey palapa. The speciality is the Molcajete, a piping hot stone bowl loaded with cooked steak and shrimp. If you are looking for a real Mexican experience come to Chapala you won't be let down. I give the place 8 out of 10 stars. Very clean and well kept hotel with friendly staff.
