Newcroft Cottage is centrally located for exploring north Antrim from Coleraine to Ballycastle. The cottage itself was clean, well-equipped, and well maintained. It was perfect spacious and comfortable for the three adults in our party. When not out seeing the sights, we enjoyed the views of the countryside and watching the chickens in the yard. The real gem, however, is Maurice, the owner. He is a wonderful host! He knows the area well and delights in sharing with guests, especially those engaging in heritage tourism. Lisnagunogue is my ancestral village. Maurice's geniality and hospitality made my first visit to "the homeland" incredibly special.
Our stay at the cottage was absolutely lovely ! We were there for a wedding weekend and it felt so homely and cosy, very comforting in what can be a chaotic and busy few days before a wedding. I couldn't have asked for anything better!
Mr Mccurdy is such a perfect host - very friendly and makes sure everyone is happy and comfortable.
I also really loved the decor which you could tell was selected and thought through for each room, giving it character and personality.
Having all the cutlery and a dishwasher there made maintenance super easy.
All the cottages are also really close to each other and the town so very easy to navigate around.
We also really enjoyed the giant adult trampoline in the garden - a welcome break in the sun!
Thank you for such a great time !
We stayed at the cottage for a wedding and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Aside from the breathtaking surroundings you're just under 10 mins away from Giant's Causeway, the Old Bushmills Distillery and Dunseverick Castle amongst other things.
Coming from London, it was incredibly peaceful and the air was so fresh you could can it and sell it! When you open the windows, there's no sound of traffic in the distance, just mother nature.
To top it all off, the locals are some of the most warm, accommodating and genuine people I've ever met – you'll have no problems getting along with the owner and neighbours in the area.
Great retreat for families, couples, anyone really. I'm definitely coming back!
Absolutely wonderful house hosted by a wonderful man. Maurice welcomed us with freshly home baked wheaten bread, eggs from the hens running about on the yard and just made us feel at home. The view from the front of the yard is just exquisite as you can see the gorgeous surrounding hills and cliffs and a farm where sheep are running about -it is like a moving painting.
The house itself is a lot bigger than it looks and the rooms are very spacious. The kids loved the very LARGE trampoline and playing with the chickens which they individually named :). Maurice was the perfect host and very thoughtful as on Easter Sunday morning he left chocolate bunnies at the front doorstep for the kids, this was amazing as we had forgotten to get the girls Easter eggs.
We will definitely be returning as the location, space and host were simply impressive
Just returned from our second trip and once again had a brilliant time. The cottage is beautiful and so well maintained. The cottage owner is a perfect gentleman and extremely helpful, nothing is too much for him, he really knows how to make you feel welcome. The welcome pack on arrival is a lovely touch and my son says the home made wheaten bread is the "best in the world". We will definitely return.
