The Amsterdam Resort was our first accomodation in Thailand at all. The Manager Stephan helped us in every single situation, informed us about further travel-possibilities and tours. The room came with AC and a nice clean bathroom, if needed it will be cleaned every day. We enjoyed our stay a lot.

Stayed for one night in our own a/c bungalow for 1200tb. It is quite basic, but set in a nice garden and good value. Very friendly owners who also rented us a moped for 200bht for 24hours. A bit set back from town, but then no issue as we had the moped!

We stayed there as we wanted to go to the Similan Islands. Kees came to pick us up in town and drove us to his place. He is very helpful and funny (his wife a bit less though).
We stayed 2 nights. As the season had just started the room hadn't been used for a while so it was a bit smelly and it's a bit far from the center but it's good to walk isn't it ? :)
Kees nicely kept our luggage when we went to our liveaboard trip and he drove us to the bus stop when we left (bus he booked for us). We paid like 450 baths a night but as i said the season had just started and prices seem to be higher during the peak.

If this were anywhere else in Southern Thailand that we travelled, I probably only would have rated this as average. However, I found that the Khao Lak area is a pricier area, so I was looking for budget accommodations. Because the Amsterdam resort is priced affordably when compared to elsewhere, I gave it a very good rating.

We were a group of 7 travelling together, so we had two different bungalows. We found the bungalows pretty average. I'll say that some in our party were not too pleased with the general cleanliness/state of the bungalows, especially the bathroom/shower of one of the bungalows. One of the bungalows had much better wi-fi reception than the other, which was almost non-existent. Kees, the owner, is very knowledgeable and very on top of things.

The Amsterdam resort is a lovely place to stay while in Khao Lak. Khao Lak it's self is a wonderful place to visit, definitely at the top of my list! The rooms at the Amsterdam were cleaned daily, it is very close to beautiful beaches that go for miles and to top it all off the host Kees is excellent. Kees set up a great snorkelling tour for us to the Surin islands and arranged our transportation to Ko Lanta quickly and easily! Affordable, clean, and a great location, what more can you ask for. Thanks again!
