“It's a WOW from us”
Reviewed 10 January 2016 for a stay in September 2015

Spectacular in every way - from driving up to the property, opening the door and exploring the various levels inside and out - it was a WOW at every turn. Views fantastic, decor and furnishings splendid, ambience and level of comfort above and beyond that anticipated. A pleasure to return to each day after touring the area which was also a delight with many and varied interesting destinations both near and further afield. We had a wonderful holiday and would certainly return -Tigh Ban Lek sets a very high standard for rental properties.

“"better than perfect"”
Reviewed 8 October 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We've recently returned from a fantastic 1 week stay at the Tigh Ban Lek
we where there from the 12th to the 18th of September and was gifted with to most amazing apartment on the hill side within stunning gardens. (finding the cottage and access was perfectly arranged) on arrival the cottage was spotless clean and warm and we just loved the layout, with the lounge views over the loch, the best natural flat screen we have watched for some time, the cottage is fitted with every thing you will need (5 star) we very much enjoyed coming in after a good hike, a hot tub bath and then a barbeque on the terrace.

this is a fantastic cottage with every aspect thought out, i loved my first stay in Scotland and would love to visit again, (also seeing my first red squirrel so close on the terrace)

“A well thought out cottage in a great location with First-Class views!”
Reviewed 8 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

As a family with two children (4 and 6) we love the outdoors, and we love adventure. It was the first time visiting the area and my wife booked this cottage having read some good reviews and seen the pictures on TripAdvisor.

First off, the pictures of the views do not do it justice. To sit out there and watch the clouds drift by, over the sea towards the islands in the distance with a cup of tea is bliss. The gardens out the front are beautifully kept and we saw red squirrels darting about!

The house is very roomy, lots of space and high ceilings. The bedrooms are downstairs and the kitchen and open plan dining and front room area are upstairs, my 4 year old said it was "an upside down house". The beds were comfy, and each of the two bedrooms had the same incredible view out to sea. You can wake up, and open the curtains to let the light stream in and just take in the view. I did not get bored of this.

The bedrooms have on-suites with hot powerful showers, and a jacuzzi bath in the master bedroom. This was good fun and relaxing after a long day of walks and hikes. The kitchen came with a few essentials and a few extras which was lovely, and was fine for cooking evening meals.

The house had an OK internet connection, enough to browse the internet which was good for planning walks etc. They also had a great selection of materials/pamphlets/books to read if you need some ideas of things to do. The owners have made sure that everything is made clear and easy to understand - for example, how to switch the TV on and get the set-top box working. These are the sort of things that normally frustrate people, but everything was very clear and well explained.

When we arrived, the house was clean and tidy and set up for our needs. It is very easy to find (although our SatNav did take us an "interesting" route along some B roads, but I much prefer the B roads to the major routes, so I was happy!

There are lots of things to do in the area if you do a bit of research. We had loads of fun for the week we were there.

Note - we only found this out on the last day, but there is a Post office in Kilmelford to the north (about ten mins away) where you can withdraw cash. We had been travelling to Lochgilphead or Oban previously.

Our family had a special time here, and I would heartily recommend Tigh Ban Lek to any other families who want to explore this part of the world.

“Lovely cottage in a brilliant location and 'wow' view.”
Reviewed 4 April 2015 for a stay in March 2015

Friendly and helpful owners beforehand and a courtesy call after we arrived to ensure all was well. Great cottage, spacious and luxurious in a beautiful setting with a view you could watch all day. Lots to do within the area especially the lovely scenic drives and walks. We had a relaxing four days and would happily go back again. Highly recommended.

“Out of this world!”
Reviewed 26 January 2015 for a stay in July 2014

I can't praise this short stay highly enough. The contact with the owners prior to the holiday was so friendly, helpful and welcoming that I felt as if I knew them. The cottage is stunning, both inside and out and every possible need was catered for. The views of course are breathtaking and it was lovely to sit on the balcony in the sunshine and just unwind.

One of the great features of this cottage was that we could stay Mon-Fri, at a reduced cost, rather than having to commit to a full week. Much as we would have happily stayed a month, sadly 4-5 days is all we could manage! I would recommend Tigh Ban Lek to any group of people, old or young.
