Igor and Anna were the perfect hosts. We stayed a week and it was very good of Igor and Anna to provide great breakfast every morning. We had a wonderful and relaxing time in this area. Lots to see but not enough time. The Dolomites ( don't let the distance put you off), the surrounding cities, Slovenian caves, the horses, food and the people are most welcoming.

“GREAT LOCATION FOR EXPLORING THE AREA”

We are two couples who stayed here in Aug./ Sept. 2015.
Set in a village surrounded by trees Stirenca is a peaceful retreat after a day of sightseeing. We occupied the top floor with a large bathroom each, large bedrooms and a small kitchen, but adequate for your holiday needs.Igor supplies a continental breakfast each morning , laid out in the kitchen. there is a lovely outdoor area to relax in. Just over the lane is a winery! they do food on a Fri, Sat, Sun. Simple fare but very tasty, enjoy a night there with the locals. Also, about three hundred metres away is a very good pizzeria. A frequent bus service goes in to Trieste , the stop just outside the tiny church. Trieste is a wonderful city, easy to get about on foot, amazing squares and architecture. Please do a bit of research about the places to visit there, even the Nazi prison , though grim, is a must see. Away from Trieste we spent most of our time in Slovenia. Lake Bled is about 90 mins. away, Ljubljana about 60 mins.,while the famous stud farm at Lipica is 15 mins by car. A good place to stay , but the location is brilliant ! Do your homework and enjoy.

Private entrance house in the middle of the woods with a very welcoming service.

PROS:
Very specious and private area on the 2nd. floor of the house
Secure parking (in the closed gates of the house)
Specious and comfortable rooms and bathrooms (2 baths)
GREAT service, with a smile and willingness to assist.
Private fully accessorized kitchen, including refrigerator, oven, cooking stove (gas), coffee makers etc.
Amazing view, in the middle of the woods.

CONS:
Entrance to the rooms from the garage, with 2.5 stories to climb. could be an issue for older people or for families with a lot of suitcases.
Free WIFI exists, however, it was not working / no reception for most of the time.
