“Working harbour, but not worth painting.....”
Review of West Bay Harbour

A functional working fishing fleet harbour, but definitely not worth a trip specifically to see. Not a Polperro or a Brixham. All a bit too man - made to be pretty. Surrounded by fish and chip shacks, overcrowded car parks, and souvenirs shops. Great if you like that, but not my cup of tea. There are many more picturesque and welcoming villages along the coast.

The harbour is central to this thriving seaside town. From boat trips to fresh fish and the scenic beach with stunning rising cliffs (made famous in Broadchurch) it is definitely worth a visit.

We love West Bay Harbour and visit frequently when holidaying in the area. Crabbing in the harbour is great fun, fish and chips/ice creams/drinks all readily available from the various huts around the edge of the harbour. A few little shops selling gifts and clothing together with a bakers/coffee shop, pub/restaurant and a large fishing shop all within walking distance of the harbour. We walked from Eype beach to West Bay and then back up along cliff top path. Beautiful views of West Bay cliffs and beach.

A walk on the beach was all we managed as it was very cold and windy. We plan to return and have a stroll thru town when the weather is nicer.
