“5 Stars for a 3 Star property - What does the Irish Tourism Board know anyway?!”
Reviewed 24 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

When I found out that the Irish Tourism Board rated this property with only 3 stars, I was genuinely perplexed. A little research revealed that this is the highest rating that the Board will attribute to such an accommodation, which sadly, is misleading to those researching this cottage and where to stay in Ireland and here's why:

Cooga Cottage is fantastic! From the moment you open the gate and walk up to the front door, you experience the extra little touches that the owner has taken to make your stay here flawless. The front garden is decorated with small bushes trimmed in the shape of a bear and a duck..the kids will love it! The very large grassy area next to the cottage is perfectly manicured and adorned with rose bushes and lawn chairs perfect for relaxing after a day of sight-seeing. There is a long stone driveway along the opposite side the cottage leading to a large car park in the back and a convenient second back entrance into cottage. Of course, the lights are motion-censored and come on automatically making finding your keys a cinch.

Inside the cottage, you will find traditional furnishings, a fireplace, and decorative pieces adorning the window sills and walls providing a genuine Irish experience. There is cable, WIFI, and a flat screen TV. Each of the 3 bedrooms are large and spacious with furniture and closets for your personal belongings. The main bedroom is located on the first floor and the other 2 are upstairs….one with a queen bed and the other with two doubles.

The kitchen is modern with upgraded appliances and a plethora of cooking tools to assist you in your self-catering needs while staying there. The bathroom is immaculate and provides a pretty respectable shower. If you forget something, then no worries! because the owner of Cooga Cottage has thought of it all when it comes to making your stay relaxing and worry-free. There are q-tips, shampoo, cotton balls, whatever you may need, already stocked in the bathroom. He even provided converters for my American plug-in devices.

I went with a friend to Cooga Cottage, but it is perfect for couples, families with small or teenaged children, or a single looking for a peaceful get-away. The Cottage is centrally-located to the major thorough-ways for longer trips to Dublin or the Cliffs of Moher and only about 30-40 mins by car to Limerick, Bunratty Castle, Adare, and the Rock of Cashel. The town of Doon is within walking distance and has a small grocery store, 5 pubs and a Chinese Restaurant. The town of Cappamore is a few kilometers down the road and has excellent Irish cuisine (Check out Hayes Pub and Restaurant if you can…delicious food!)

Cooga Cottage is truly an exceptional property - landing 5 stars in my book. From beginning to end, your time at Cooga Cottage will be a relaxing, traditional irish experience.

“If you want to stay in Authentic Ireland, choose Cooga Cottage”
Reviewed 10 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

Cooga Cottage was immaculate, with all of the amenities of my own place, back in the states . It had all of the wonderful little touches of a house that is made into a home, from fresh-picked flowers on the counters, to comfortable bedrooms and a kitchen that was sunlit and welcoming to both me and my friend.
Cooga Cottage was central to all of the places we wanted to travel while on vacation doe 8 days~ Dublin, Limerick, Cashel, Cliffs Of Moher, Bunratty Castle and Folk Village, Adare, as well as so many other attractions.
The internet connection was actually faster than my own in America, which was a pleasant surprise to me and helped me with my travel writer's workload.
Tom, the owner of Cooga Cottage, was very pleasant, allowing us to check in early and filled us in on the delightful history of the home we would be staying at. He was helpful in suggesting places to go and made us feel welcome and at ease in this beautiful country.
I will go back to Ireland, and will definitely book this 'home away from home' when I do.

“What A Terrific Spot!”
Reviewed 2 October 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Snuggle into the beyond quaint Cooga Cottage where your every need is anticipated—down to a neatly placed sewing kit on the kitchen ledge. Enjoy the countryside setting, garden still blooming all around even in late September and the lovely cottage with everything you could ever need—it is a treat! We so enjoyed our time there and appreciated our host, Tom Keogh, so much and his attention to our every need. The entire experience was just grand! Randy and Carmen from North Carolina

we stayed in our favorite Irish cottage for the third time! Wouldn't think of staying any place else. The cottage is warm comfortable and inviting. You want for nothing when you stay here, besides the comfortable beds the gardens give you the serene quiet peaceful feeling it always welcomes you home after a busy day sight seeing. It's also centrally located to so many destinations it makes travel a pleasure. Tom has thought of everything to make you feel welcomed with open arms. Thank you thank you thank you.
