Oh what a waste! Shame on the National Trust for running this place into the ground, the gardens urgently need some colour and pizazz and I saw not one staff member wondering around.
The cafe was dismal and my son and I were quite shocked at:
-the competence of the staff (dirty tables everywhere and it was not super busy, they just kept walking past and had no idea how to prioritize). We actually had to ask them to clear the mess from the last people away after waiting politely for 20 minutes.
-filth (not from that shift) all over the floors, walls and 'decor'. What the heck is a velvet head with a winter puffer jacket hat doing on display in a supposed antique themed tea house???? Most of the 'decor' needs to be binned. The closest op shop could offer much, much better.
-food presentation appalling, our $9 scones were served in a takeaway cardboard container with a takeaway knife really????? You have NO plates. Wow. Coffee half froth. Both took 45 minutes!
Please Gordon Ramsey come and help.
