We drove past here so many times and finally got there for a day. What a pleasure to hear all the Melbourne history relatated to ripponlea. Absolutely brilliant and worth every moment and cent. We ended up buying the book as it was so interesting and made us feel proud to be Victorian Aussies !! Great stuff God bless the family behind ripponlea without them we would lose these national treasures

We had a delightful afternoon in the gardens and the exhibition was beautiful. Don't hesitate to stop by the tea rooms. We had a hot chocolate by the fire with delicious warm scones. Very friendly staff and unique atmosphere. Warmly recommended!

The house and gardens are spectacular and worth a visit.
The cafe though, is not worth a visit. Ridiculously slow service and unprofessional, unfriendly staff. Over priced for a cold meat pie ($8.50). Don't bother. We noticed that most tables had leftover food on them. My advice would be to take your own picnic and enjoy the beautiful surrounds.

Had time to spare and took the kids. They enjoyed running around in the gardens and exploring the paths. The plants and really nice. Great to have a picnic on a nice day with friends.
