We pulled in to Al Fontanile mid-afternoon just for a snack (expecting lunch to be finished) and ended up with one of the most fun meals of our holiday. Because it happened to be Wednesday we stumbled upon the visit of Il Pescatore who comes up every midweek from the Adriatic with a van full of fish. Our 'snack' turned into a large plate of spaghetti marinara and TWO whole roast fish, a bream and a bass, all of it cooked to perfection by Al Fontanile's chef. Il Pescatore and his friends at the next table were the life and soul of the party and made it a most memorable occasion, and the waitress was great amidst the chaos! Knowing we had to eat dinner in Castelluccio about four hours later we reluctantly extracted ourselves or we would have been there all night - and wouldn't have regretted it. Hospitality, Itaian style.
