We stayed in F104 for 10 nights and were very comfortable. This unit has a nice view; others in the complex have a much better view (buildings B through E; units ending in "1" through "3").

We were in a first floor unit that has at least a dozen stairs down to the front door from the covered parking area and the great room has a two step step down. That gave the feeling of more space in the great room. The kitchen was nicely remodeled and very well stocked with dining and cooking equipment.

Occasionally we could hear the people upstairs, but not enough to bother us! The closet space was very ample and the washer dryer in the hall to the master bathroom was very efficient.

Room Tip: Best views are buildings B through E; units ending in "1" through "3"

Great spot to stay if you want to be close or have a direct view (depending on your booking) of the ocean and a short walk to the Mauna Lani beach. The condos are not right on the beach, but if you are able to take a short walk on an easy path or local road (two choices) to an authentic Hawaiian beach, your holiday will be a happy one!

Unit F105 - Mauna Lani Point.

1980’s decor, rusted sinks and taps, rusted fridge, disgusting stains on the carpet, toilets that run on, kitchen cabinets that are hanging by a thread. The list I’m sure is much longer.

It’s unbelievable to me that whoever owns this condo continues to rent it a such a dear price and doesn’t upgrade it to the standards that is in keeping with the other units. Shame on you!!!

The Classic resort folks warned us upon check in and went out of there way to find us an updated unit for the rest of our stay and for this I thank you. I couldn’t imagine spending another night sleeping there knowing that they are laughing all the way to the bank.

We had a wonderful stay at the Coastal Dreams Villa d103. It's exactly as depicted in the pictures and located in an amazing area. The views are spectacular. Breathtaking.
The beach gear provided is excellent. Tommy Bahamas chairs and umbrella, good cooler, bikes, snorkeling gear, huge soft beach towels...One tip-before loading up the car with the beach chairs, check them for insects. :-)
The unit is large and the resort complex is beautiful. In the spirit of full disclosure, I have some additional observations/feedback to share. Some things are beyond the control of the property managers/owners, others could be addressed. Overall, however, I would still highly recommend this villa.
The unit was very, very hot and uncomfortable when we arrived. This is a self service rental and you are not greeted upon arrival. That's fine with me, but the unit didn't feel 'fresh.' It didn't appear that it was prepped for our arrival. It seems it's cleaned after someone leaves, and that's it. Not a deal breaker, but a different experience from other villas we've rented in Hawaii.
Watch your step! My dad nearly broke his neck going out to the lanai. The view is so amazing that you're looking out the doors, and there are unexpected steps down to go out to the lanai. Odd design (one of those things beyond the control of the owners) that we found dangerous at first. I had to move a couple of chairs to remind my folks to be careful. We spent many hours enjoying the lanai.
Although well appointed, the master bathroom is very stuffy. There's no air conditioning in there. There was a big fan available, however. The master bed was very comfortable. The front guest room linens were musty but the bed comfortable. The kitchen is very small, well stocked and the ice maker was EXCELLENT! It really kept up with our daily coolers for the beach.
The Mauna Lani Point resort area is amazing. The resort beach is perfect, and the Napau restaurant was great. The grocery store closest to the villa is very expensive, but we forgot to stop at Safeway after leaving the airport so we just stocked up there. The employees were very friendly and helpful.
To me, the Big Island is the most amazing place and my favorite island. Mauna Lani Point and the Coastal Dreams villa is the perfect place to stay to enjoy all the island has to offer. I look forward to returning, hopefully next year! Thank you Jeff and Suzanne for providing these beautiful accommodations.
