Bainside Fishery, Kirkby on Bain.
Following up on some information given to us by a local angler our group of five anglers headed to Bainside Fishery in Kirkby on Bain. We arrived and set up in the pegs located next to the roadside carpark, some nice features to fish up against e.g. Trees, reeds and lilly beds. We soon met up with one of the owners Mike and established that he had worked hard over the last couple of years since taking on the lake to tame what had become an over grown beast.
His work has not only delivered a beautiful fishery but also given Mike first-hand knowledge of the unseen underwater features, a knowledge which he is willing to share with the visiting angler.
Our party spent two days of our holiday on this venue and caught fish all day long, Roach and other Silver Fish on maggot were plentiful, carp of all sizes would take pellet or paste on pole and feeder methods also worked well for Carp and Bream.
A brilliant well-kept mixed fishery worth trying if you find yourself in the area.
I mustn't forget the food and drink service offered by Mike and Sheila, orders taken and brought to your peg at a time which suits you.
Hope to return again next year.
We stayed here for 28 days whilst working at Lincoln university .
Excellent accommodation with every facility plus it was clean, freshly decorated and Mike & Sheila the owners were truly hospitable and accommodating .
There is plenty of parking and a great pub about 50 paces away that serves excellent food (£20 average per meal and two drinks each).
We cooked half the time and all the accoutrements you require are there.
Beds really comfy and changed weekly , shower room was big and warm, infact the heating is good throughout .
Tv and sofas in the living room.
