Overall a beautiful part of the world with stunning views.Saddleworth was just down the road and a lively place to be. The old Bell was lovely to stay at. The bedrooms were clean and well kept. Evening meal was good with a good choice of food. The service was good and staff helpful. Breakfast was also worth having. There is an enormous selection of gin but very expensive, more than London prices. You can expect t pay at least £10. The price of the tonics were also very expensive.Would I stay there again, yes but not for a drink.

Thank Jane H

Hi Jane, thank you for your review. We are pleased you enjoyed your visit and recent stay here with us.

Whilst we do have some expensive gins, which are imported from all around the World, also various priced premium tonics, you can have a gin from as little as £3. Our gin prices start from £3 and the cost of a basic tonic is £1.50. So you can have a G&T from £4.50.

It may also be worth noting when you next visit that we do have a list of our monthly top 10 gin selections, with prices, on each of the tables in the Brasserie. In addition to this, you will find around the bar tablets for the use of our customers. On these, you can view all the gins we have available, with prices and more detailed information about each gin we stock.

We look forward to your next visit. Please do ask us for more information about your choices we are more than happy to discuss these and the prices. Take a look at one of our tablets, apart from our huge list of gins it also contains more information, such as menus, events, accommodation and more.

Thank you again and best wishes.

Had the privilege of staying here for three nights in room two while working at the small trading estate situated behind The Old Bell.

The room was comfortable and although it was situated on the first floor there was NO noise from the bar or the road outside.

The food was excellent as was the service with all staff helpful and willing to accommodate any requests.

Thank you oh and I only managed to sample 7 gins on my three night stay. Will have to return

Visited this hotel for one night and everything about the hotel
was perfect-the food-the rooms-the staff and of course the
large amounts of gin on display, some of which was sampled.
Overall a very nice stay.We came up from Dorset and were most impressed.

We had friends visit and was looking for a nice place to spend the night not too far from home. The Old bell inn sounded great and hit the spot with us and our friends. The rooms were great the food was tasty and well presented and the staff superb.
I like my real ales and the old bell delivered on that, as for the gin emporium and the knowledge of the bar staff that was brilliant. Due to the world record amount of gins on offer be aware you can get carried away with the amount you consume.
The food was very tasty and ample amount, with nothing being too much trouble for all of the servers.
The rooms were clean and very comfortable with plenty of toiletries available. Be aware that you can get a bit of road noise if you are in a front room. There's a residents lounge which is very comfortable and you can order drinks from the bar using the phone.
Unfortunately the weather wasn't really good enough to sit in the outside areas but hopefully next time as we are sure their will be a next time.

A really nice weekend made possible by the great atmosphere and the warm friendly welcome. The service was excellent, a great place to stay for a relaxing break or when passing on business! The Old Bell is a short drive away from some great walks and scenery and the shops, local taxi service offer reasonable prices.
