Janardan's abode is the perfect setting for offbeat and exploratory travelers alike. While it has the price point that will first make you wonder if there is a 'catch' involved, the experience will leave you awed in the end and leave you feeling way beyond 'worthwhile'. The place is nested at the perfect location that opens into a breathtaking view of the river. One can walk down a few meters to find 'Mother's kitchen', which is the perfect lunch plan with their signature prawn and fish thalis that are far economical for the spread at offer. There are great walking and trekking stretches all around. A bridge that connects Goa to Maharashtra lies just ahead of Mother's kitchen. You can even find a bus to Mumbai and other places just across the bridge.
Tip: I would avoid this other restaurant called 'River view' which was a rip off for the price, service and quality of food at offer. You would rather take a bus to Arambol beach, pay up 10/- one way, and enjoy the great food offered across the shacks spread out. That's if you want to tickle your taste buds beyond the great food at Mother's kitchen.
As against Arambol, you also have the option to go to a rather deserted beach which will give you an experience of being left alone from all the people. Keri beach is one such point located close to the place. Again, a short bus trip will land you there. You will have multiple options for transportation and Janardan is a gracious host who will leave no stone unturned to get you the best experience. You need only ask.
When I first landed at Pernem railway stn, I was ripped off by 400/- by the rik driver who got me to the place. However, Janardan's insistence left me no choice as he dropped me personally to the railway stn on my return. Such is the care that you can expect here. You need only ask!
Kiranpani Eco Farm is such a lovely stay, away from the busy cities and surrounded by lakes and greenery. WiFi is fast, bathrooms and rooms are clean. Janardan and staff are very friendly and are happy to help you with any questions. Janardan booked my train ticket for me to get back to Mumbai as it can be hard to do so for travellers. And he is easily contactable or he'll be somewhere in the "Janardan Garden" if you need his help. You can climb up the backyard to the top of a small mountain and be completely immersed in nature or wander around the greenery surrounding the temples and village. Very peaceful safe stay. Great views also!
After a terrible time touring Rajasthan and Agra we were so happy to arrive in Goa and enjoy a quieter more civilised environment.
Janardan arranged a taxi for us with a very nice local taxi driver who knew where to go and gave a fixed price in advance.
Janardan was very hospitable during our stay, so much so we stayed an extra 3 days. We really liked the quiet pace of life here and wanted to be away from the parties.
There was always somebody on hand to answer questions and Janardan even arranged a scooter for us and he held 1 passport himself as a deposit which made us more comfortable than leaving it with a total stranger.
WiFi had a few issues during our stay but apart from those it was the best we've had in India to date.
We even asked if we could have a bbq one night and Janardan brought 1 from his home along with some utensils for us to use - he also took us to the local market and local butcher to get what we needed.
Overall very relaxed and enjoyable stay. Not too much to do nearby on foot so you will need a bike or car to get around.
