Thank you kumar
Glendale is a property that gives you the feel of a personal luxurious experience. Very clean and neat property with a nice natural pool and coffee plantation. We were only four girls who stayed but felt extremely safe. The caretaker took us to the best spot through the tea plantation and the view was breathtaking. Defiantly recommended for friends, families and couples and also only ladies.
Thank you Henna and please do visit us again
We stayed in Glendale Homestay for 2 nights and it was a great experience. Everything about this Homestay was so good and especially owner Bijin was so helpful and took utmost care in providing details and care. Then the caretaker there named Ravi is another human being who helped and took care of us in a great way. He is the one who helped us in all the ways to make our trip a memorable one. Starting from the food to transportation, he has all the contacts and he do the needful. If we again plan for a trip to Wayanad, then surely it will be because of this homestay. We loved that place and location.
Thanks Bijin and Ravi.
Thank you vicky and friends for being a wonderful guest Hope you guys will visit us again
This review was long pending!
Everything about this place was a fantastic experience for us.
The caretaker, Ravi was incredibly friendly and courteous. The barbecue prepared by Ravi was awesome and there was plenty of it. The day we reached it was raining and the road to Glendale was under construction, muddy and impossible for bikes to cross, Ravi helped us a lot reaching the Holiday Home (dont worry there is a more scenic road in between the tea estate to reach the bungalow, which we missed while coming). He was with us all the time and did everything we asked for.
The owner Bijin made sure that everything is in place. Though he was not present physically, he was always there where ever we required someone to guide us at a completely new place. He made numerous calls to enquire if everything is fine. In fact, he went out of the way to ensure that our stay was comfortable. Unfortunately, I was not able to meet Bijin.
The property is in mid of a tea estate, incredible view of Chambra peak, and riding our bikes on the tea estate's narrow roads was a mesmerizing experience. The property is well maintained. The place is definitely recommended for those who seek stay in a serene, away from crowd. The show stealer of the property are the mud pool, the attic, the dining area in mid of nature (cooking in the open & late night outs) and the single bedroom bungalow (the sound from the roof when it rains).
If you're really afraid of owl hooting, animal shrieking, cricket & Grasshopper stridulating at night or are high-maintenance or hate mud, mud-pools, maybe this isn't for you. But if that's the case, you shouldn't be seeking a nature get-away in the Glendale.
Thank you to everyone at Glendale!
Thank you for giving a wonderful appreciation about our property
hope you guys will visit us again
This is an average home in a good location. Getting there is a little difficult in large vehicles as the path is really narrow at places. Nevertheless, once you get there, the nature that awaits you is worth it. I am posting both the good and bad pics of the place.
Large home. Can accommodate 10 - 12 people easily. The caretaker Mr. Ravi is very helpful. Turns up on time, is friendly and answers his phone very quickly. Ready to help always. The home is in the midst of a coffee plantation. The pool, barbecue facility and the hammocks in the backyard are wonderful. I would recommend tying more such hammocks. My little niece really enjoyed them. The whole place is very homely. The walk up to the tea plantations is also a good experience in the evenings. For us, coming from a noisy area of Kerala, it was a nice escape.
The property in the front (where we stayed) is not well maintained. A large part of the home is dusty and not maintained up to professional standards. Lack of hygiene is blaring in the bathrooms. The windowsills are really dusty and have not been dusted for a long time. There are not enough amenities. Specifically, I would recommend keeping toothpastes and shampoos in the bathrooms. The flush in the toilet at the back is not working. Both the cloth stands in the front bathroom are broken. The sofa cushion is really old and dusty. The sofa has not been painted for years it seems and is in serious need of repair. The floor tiling of different bathrooms are inconsistent. Bathrooms are not clean with patches of dirt and strings of cobwebs adorning the walls and the roof. The walls in the kitchen are in need of repainting as there are a lot of stains which makes it looks gross.
All this said, the property will turn out amazing if these issues are fixed and a fresh air of aesthetic sense is breathed into the property in the front.
