The best way to find the country house is to use Google Maps. Wonderful hosts who helped with restaurant recommendations in the area (e.g. Taberna Jovenes Flamencos in Arcos de la Frontera is a must-visit place), a great view toward Arcos de la Frontera, you are rewarded with a quiet night and are awaken in the morning by the roosters - such a wonderful idyllic experience. The place accepts cash only, hence we opted not to have dinner or breakfast, yet if we are in the area we'd stay again in a heartbeat.
We had some problems to find the house, but when we phoned, Almunda talked us in. The house is quite new and the rooms are comfortable. Every room has a terrace and you have a nice view. Almunda gives cooking workshops, so we decided to book the dinner too.
Delicious!! Breakfast was perfect too. The owners are very friendly and you come as guests but you leave as friends.
The house is beautiful and very comfortable. We loved our terrace where we relaxed and watched the sunset. We had a fabulous home cooked dinner and were wonderfully looked after during our brief stay. I highly recommend this accommodation!
This was an outstanding base for exploring the white towns. The rooms are excellent and the absolute highlight was our hosts, Almu and Juan. They have plenty of local knowledge and suggestions, but the absolute highlight of our three week stay in Spain was a private cooking class and dinner with Almu. As a bonus, Juan explains and gives and short sherry class. We highly recommend at least 2 or 3 nights here. ( yes it is tricky to find but that is half the fun and just phone them for directions if you lose your way)
A good place to stay near the attractive town of Arcos de la Frontera. There is so much to see and do in the area we decided to stay for a week to save us packing and unpacking too much. A good decision, the hosts, Almu and Juan are very helpful and Almu speaks good English so don't worry if your Spanish is not up to a lot. We had breakfast most mornings outside in the courtyard and a few inside when the weather early was a little chilly. Almu also cooked for us in the evenings on two occasions. These meals were lovely and very good value for the money she charged. There's also several restaurants nearby besides many in the town.
