There are good photo opportunities of the lighthouse and the coastline and the chance of getting to see a seal. There is also a lot of interesting information regarding the history of the area.

The lighthouse is accessed from a large car park and is alongside a wide beach. It is a very picturesque location and there was loads of wildlife on the beach - loads of sea lions and pied shag birds.

It was nice to visit if you’re passing through ! I wouldn’t go out of my way to see it. It’s wheelchair friendly to get to the lighthouse. You get a nice view of the ocean and there is some history to read about. There are bathrooms to use there as well.

A photogenic lighthouse with the scrub and steps and the red door. It has toilet facilities and a decent sized car park. Depending on the weather, you can go for a nice walk along the beach. You may get lucky and spot seals. If you have the time on your trip through the Catlins, this is worth a stop and stretch the legs for a walk around.

A blustery day for a walk to the lighthouse - good thing it was just a short walk! There is so much history in the area, the sign boards were really helpful,
