We stayed at Plantagenet cottage for three nights to mark our daughters 18th. The house is amazing, obviously well loved. On a practical level the house was clean, well presented and welcoming. Lovely sheets and towels and welcome basket and all kitchen essentials etc to make for a very comfortable stay. The pool was warm and clean and the gardens lovely for both the children and dog! Outdoor seating and BBQ were also great.
But those aspects are not what makes a stay here special. The house has a real sense of history and occasion about it, it is a unique home in lovely grounds. You feel very much tucked away and private, despite not being far from the village. It felt like a very special couple of days.
There are great walks from the door and the teenagers found the outlet shopping centre 10mins drive away, so something for everyone! Would not hesitate to recommend a stay here.
We booked Plantagenet cottage for our wedding weekend, with our family traveling to stay for the weekend. It was absolutely perfect for what we wanted, with lots of space, and wonderful amenities. There was also a lovely welcome basket, which was very sweet and appreciated, with fresh milk etc in the fridge, and freshly made apple juice from apples in the garden!
The bedrooms were all lovely, each with comfortable beds, high quality bedding, towels and also extra towels for the pool. The garden and pool are wonderful, lots of nooks and cosy corners with a table for Al fresco drinks, relaxing or eating, along with a BBQ. The pool has lots of toys, and great that it is heated!
The house location is in a nice quiet village, with a great pub just across the green for food and a light beverage. Very pretty. We stayed in the summer, but imagine the house is wonderful with the large wood fireplace in full swing and cosy in the winter.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Plantagenet cottage, which made our weekend just perfect. We would definitely recommend a stay, and look forward to our return!
We stayed for 6 nights in this glorious and unique cottage. It is very conveniently located but very quiet with open fields at the back and side of the vast and beautifully wooded garden. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable. Good service and communication from the owner.
The location is very well located in a quiet and nice area. The cottage does have all what you need to enjoy a wonderful stay including a pool to refresh
We travelled as a family of three from Australia and found Plantagenet Cottage to be a wonderful place to experience a classic English setting. Located in the tiny village of Boughton Aluph, which was complete with a pub and village green, we were within walking distance of a variety of walks on the North Downs Way and the nearby Eastwell Manor (which is a hotel with spa). The walks were not difficult and covered some wonderful countryside.
The cottage itself is equipped in its entirety - we were unable to find something we needed that wasn't supplied. The pool is wonderful for a family (but a bit cold for us Australians!). Block size was great and undisturbed at the back. We loved being able to stay in a cottage with so much history, dating back many hundreds of years. Beds were excellent, only one bathroom but very modern fittings, good to have the washer/dryer and the garden got plenty of sunlight.
We did have some trouble finding the entrance but once you know what you are looking for this is no problem!
Such a lovely place and setting, would definitely recommend a stay here!
