“A Kentish haven”
Reviewed 7 August 2018 for a stay in July 2018

We stayed for 6 nights in this glorious and unique cottage. It is very conveniently located but very quiet with open fields at the back and side of the vast and beautifully wooded garden. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable. Good service and communication from the owner.

“Historic home in a classic English village”
Reviewed 28 June 2018 for a stay in June 2018

We travelled as a family of three from Australia and found Plantagenet Cottage to be a wonderful place to experience a classic English setting. Located in the tiny village of Boughton Aluph, which was complete with a pub and village green, we were within walking distance of a variety of walks on the North Downs Way and the nearby Eastwell Manor (which is a hotel with spa). The walks were not difficult and covered some wonderful countryside.
The cottage itself is equipped in its entirety - we were unable to find something we needed that wasn't supplied. The pool is wonderful for a family (but a bit cold for us Australians!). Block size was great and undisturbed at the back. We loved being able to stay in a cottage with so much history, dating back many hundreds of years. Beds were excellent, only one bathroom but very modern fittings, good to have the washer/dryer and the garden got plenty of sunlight.
We did have some trouble finding the entrance but once you know what you are looking for this is no problem!
Such a lovely place and setting, would definitely recommend a stay here!

Thanks very much guys for your lovely review and the kind words in our guest book. I think you must have brought some of the golden Aussie sun with you as this week it's been scorching and we've actually turned the pool temp down a couple of degrees as it was getting too bath like ! One of the things we love most is how the cottage is tucked away and that you wouldn't know its there until you're through the gate. It was our pleasure having you to stay. Best wishes Tim & Maite :-)

“Beautiful, tranquil and just a short drive from London.”
Reviewed 3 June 2018 for a stay in April 2018

We just had the best stay this cottage!!!! I booked a short 3 night break with my husband, 2 teenage daughters and 2 small dogs. Everyone was amazed at how lovely this place was. everything was perfect and just as described. The garden was very large and secure for our dogs to play in In unsupervised. The pool was lovely, clean and deep enough to swim, there were lots of toys and floats to use in the summer house. Every little detail had been thought about and there was nothing that we could have possibly needed except our clothes and ourselves.
The location was great, lots of local walks, pubs and shops close by. But sitting in the garden you felt a million miles away from everything.
The owners are so friendly and accommodating, and just a phone call away should you need anything. We can't wait to stay again!!!!

“Picture perfect country weekender!”
Reviewed 22 March 2018 for a stay in March 2018

While I can't guarantee snow will be falling outside (it was for us), once you get the fire going in this gorgeous Kent country cottage it becomes your own winter wonderland. Maybe you'll be lucky enough to visit enough in warmer months and enjoy the pool? Either way, the hosts have thought of everything and you'll be right at home. Would love to come back soon!

Sounds like you experienced a bit of the winter magic at the cottage - thanks very much for taking the time to leave a review and do come back, perhaps in another season - autumn with all the colours in the garden is also amazing ! Best wishes Tim & Maite
