“Lovely couple of hours spent here”

We have just spent a lovely, peaceful couple of hours with the llamas. The owner is incredibly welcoming and gave us all an interesting talk about the llamas and how to understand their body language. The place itself is very basic but the children just loved spending time with the llamas, stroking those that came up to us for attention. Worth a visit!

We wanted to see the Llamas whilst we were her. Who wouldn't?
We thought there would be half a dozen, maybe ten. The posters showed 8 varieties.
We paid our €7 (4 for children) and we're charmed by the owner who spoke with love and passion of his life's work and his adored Llamas.
"They do not kick or bite, you go up this path, through the gate and you are among the herd." He told us in his excellent English.
We did and found ourselves in the midst of 50 or so of the most delightful animals.
We approached them and they tolerated us with a regal disdain.
We petted them and they were fine.
But the highlight was when we sat down on a bench under a tree. A couple walked by and allowed us a photo. Then ("his name is Valentino" explained the owner on our exit) came and allowed us to stroke him and nuzzled us.
What a great experience.
In all there are 110 Llamas here and that was the best five quid of our holiday.

I loved this site. We were going to skip it because I thought it would be boring. You get to go in to their natural environment with them and it changes the whole experience. The lamas are cautious but some like to have their head and back scratched. The owner is fantastic telling you as much as he can about the history of these gentle animals. Don't miss this as a place to visit! It is the females that you can interact with, the males are fenced off because the owner says they breed like rabbits! You can interact with the males too but they are behind a fence.

AQuite hard to describe, it really is Llamas that you can pet, stroke, cuddle and just watch. Amazing animals that are so friendly and interesting. The owner gives you a little talk about the Lamas when you enter and his love for his animals is obvious. We visited with my 13 year old daughter who has Autism and adores animals especially Llamas so it was fantastic to see how realxed it made her. I was a little wary initially but they really are adorable. We spent about an hour and a half here and the cost was 20 Euros (7 for adults and 6 for my daughter) It's situated about 5 mins drive from the Pont d'arc so can easily be combined with some time at the Arc. My Husband took my daughter back the 2nd week they enjoyed it so much. If you don't like animas (especially Llamas) this isn't for you but for anyone who likes animals this really is a calming and relaxing place. You can sit on benches and the Llamas nearly sit on your laps becasue they just love the attention!
