We did the river safari trip to the Russian border and really enjoyed it. Our guide Geir was great - very friendly, fun and knowledgeable and made the tour very interesting. I feel that we learned a lot. I would definitely recommend this

We were 6 adults and 4 children going on a sightseeing trip along the border in Kirkenes.
Our guide was superb- and his entertainment and enthusiasm to both young and old was very good and interesting.
Thank you very much for excellent service!!!
Value for the money!

From the time we were picked up at our lodgings the excitement began. Extremely friendly guide opened our door and made the start as easy as possible. Entering the change room we were completely transformed into the warmest ever snow clothing and protective gear and then with a great sense of humour and fun we made our way to the snow skidoos. How exciting as the snow shimmered all over the magical area as we were given simple instructions for our safety.
There was only one other couple, the guide (a really fun guy) and my hubby and me. I am a complete novice when it comes to bikes so I chose to sit on the back and just enjoy the view. Well let me tell you the view was AMAZING! Approx. 6 hours of sheer fun and views. We went through forest between trees like James Bond, across roads (all very much looked after and safe) and then let me tell you the speed on the fiordes was such a thrill (not necessary if you are not a speed demon like we are)
Lunch at an echo resort complete with heaps of information and even a video to watch about the area. Over lunch we talked about their working and living environment and we felt like we could not ask for anything else. Arriving home safely with both of us not wanting it to end. Ours smiles are still embedded on our faces when we think of this amazing trip. More than highly recommended.

Joined them for a snowmobile & king crabs hunting which includes all you can eat king crab & wine.

Everyone at Barents were very professional and friendly; safety briefing, helping us on to ride safely on the snowmobile; took photos with king crabs but unfortunately weather wasn't good enough to see northern lights while we were there but I totally enjoyed myself here. Dinner was great with free flow of wine, soft drinks and king crabs.

We didn't want to do the Hurtigruten excursions in Kirkenes and wanted to see and try fresh crab and found Barents on Google. Booking via email was a breeze, and we ended up with a snowmobile trip, that ended with a crab FEAST.

Geir, our guide for the day, picked us up at the pier and drove us to the Barents camp. We geared up in their snow outfits before safety briefs. Drove out to a crab pot and took pictures with live crabs.

Upon getting back, we enjoyed a pot of freshly steamed crab legs, stuffing ourselves till we could eat no more!

Geir was a charming guide, knowledgeable about the area, Norwegian culture, and would most definitely take longer excursions with Barents next time in Kirkenes.
