My family and I stayed at the Hilton in August 2018 and had a suite room with loads of space, two bedrooms, three bathrooms and a decent kitchen and lounge area, which gave us loads of space and which the kids loved as they could separate themselves from the boring adults when they wanted.

The hotel itself is large, smart and well run. The staff are, on the whole, very friendly and helpful, with only a few less friendly exceptions in the buffet restaurant. Talking of the buffet, the food in there was surprisingly good quality and with enough variety over a one-week period that we did not get bored, albeit we didn't eat there every night. It is a bit annoying how not even water was included in the half board meal in the evening though. All drinks are extra and they are expensive! Food elsewhere in the resort is pricey as well, albeit it is better quality than some smarter hotels I have stayed in.

The main pool area is nice and has a good number of sun loungers. The pool staff use a sensible system for ensuring sun loungers are not 'reserved' for more than an hour, however that doesn't seem to stop most people from doing so. As a result we found we had to be down by the pool with our towels down on loungers by not later than 9am, which was a bit annoying. I've been to much worse hotels for it though and on the plus side, people do tend to move off over lunch time and later in the afternoon so it's not like you can't get loungers later.

The hotel is towards the northern part of Vilamoura as a resort but there is a shuttle services to the marina and to the beach, both of which are running regularly. The hotel even has its own section of the beach and you can collect towels down there, both of which we really appreciated. Nice beach as well!

Overall we really enjoyed our stay at this Hilton. It was pricey in the first place and both drinks and food here were expensive but then this is a pretty expensive area in general and the costs were not unexpected. It does still gripe that no drinks were included with dinner though. Anyway, I would definitely go back in the future, which is unusual for me, so they must have been doing most things right at this hotel!

Room Tip: High floor with a pool view

I stayed here with my family last month and had a 2 bedroom suite, the rooms here are very spacious but I felt generally the hygiene here wasn’t as good as it was the year before - when we turned the spa bath on heaps of black gunk poorer out onto my children - revolting.
The service anywhere across the complex apart from reception is very poor, the pool bar is just ridiculous - avoid at all costs. We ordered some toasties here one day which came out to our pool loungers, 5 hours later we still had the try and dirty plates sat next to us.
The food in the restaurant outside is also very expensive and very poor - genuinely this place should feel ashamed.
Breakfast is good with a good selection.
Although you get the use of the Hilton facilities and shops you do feel like they treat you like a poor cousin.
Probably won’t give this place a 3rd chance

Apartment was immaculate, spacious and had everything we needed for our weeks stay. All bars and restaurants we used were all amazing. Outside areas were also immaculate. Staff very attentive, non more so than the driver of the courtesy bus who was very helpful, as my husband has a little difficulty on steps.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the garden out of our apartment, very quiet

Great location, but everything at the hotel is tired - including the staff, who really don’t seem to care! Glass on the floor at every breakfast, if you aren’t queuing to get in to the tiniest room for the hotel size; a shuttle bus to town that is never on its advertised time; sun beds and umbrellas that are broken and need replacing and the list goes on......The hotel and staff need a makeover fast - one to avoid.

Stayed in July with my family and very happy with our experience and having stayed in a number of other properties in Vilamoura, this hotel is now very much our preferred choice.
Positives
- Excellent facilities and spacious rooms - well equipped, maintained and clean
- Use of the facilities and services in the adjoining Hilton hotel
- Service and attention at reception was second to none and every request dealt with quickly and professionally.
- Bus service to the Marina and beach is excellent
- Access to the beach club with loungers and towels provided
- Pool area is quiet and relaxed - no drama getting sun loungers and no blaring music
- Five minute walk to the first tee at Pinhal Golf Course
- Spar supermarket a 10 minute walk from the complex
- At night time the complex is very quiet and peaceful

Negatives
- Internet speed in the apartment was extremely poor and keeping in touch with work via email was very difficult.
- Prices at the poolside bar are a bit on the pricey side - €4 for a soft drink and €5 for a slushy

Dear Guest,

Thank you so much for reviewing your experience and acknowledging the resort's facilities and service.
We are thrilled our property has become your preferred choice for your holidays in Vilamoura.

Regarding the negative points, we are aware of the insufficient quality of the internet and are taking action to upgrade the service, which we expect to be concluded by the end of the year.

In relation to the prices, our regular competition checks confirm that they are in line with other equivalent hotels and resorts but will be adjusted should the situation change.

We thank you for your feedback and look forward to welcoming you back again next year.

Kind regards,
