This was the first time we had stayed in a villa and we were'nt disappointed. 4 adults and 3 children visited
It's in a lovely area and only a 5 minute walk away from the marina. Joana met us at the villa exactly when she said she would and is very polite and informative about the area. There is a charge of 120 euros for the aircon and a deposit is required from Joana of 400euros. We got the deposit back, but it is worth considering paying the £4 to guarantee a buy back rate from whichever money exchange site you use so you don't get stung when swapping it back to GBP. The villa is very clean, just like the resort, and has all you need to enjoy a relaxing holiday, but is close enough to the marina if you want a night out. The pool area is great and there is a good sized area (about a 3rd) of the pool at 60cms depth which is great for young kids that are still learning to swim. The villa is well equipped and has plenty of plates, pots and pans for everyone. Lots of beds for around the pool and 2 tables with 8 chairs for dining outside The nearest beach is in qaurteira and is walkable, but I would recommend a taxi or renting a car. Don't be fooled by what seems like the lack of restaurants when viewed on google maps - there are loads and we ate out 4 times when we were there, every meal was of a good to excellent quality. We can recommend Ostro D'ouro. Has lots of fish tanks inside for the kids to look at and the staff are very friendly. Food is good (Portuguese steak is brill) and they do an extra large beer (worth it for the pics). If you do rent a car then there are good supermarkets within a 10 min drive. We found an Apolonia (Set out like a British supermarket and has home comforts - bacon etc) and an Aldi next door to each other. The Aldi was similar to home, fruit and meat was excellent and the wine was very nice and very cheap.
The villa is also very close to a waterpark, which when I looked at reviews before we went was supposed to be a small one. What a 'load' its big and has enough to entertain all ages and has rollercoasters and fair ground rides. Book before you go to save around 10 euros per family. If you booking a car, we found http://www.travelrent.pt/ the cheapest for a 'minivan' 560 euros for the week (some websites try to get 1300 euros out of ya) and they supplied us with a transit custom with only 1500 km on the clock. There was no problem when we picked it up and when we dropped it off, it couldn't have been simpler. Certainly didn't even feel like a 'scam' was even remotely possible.
Thanks to Joana and her grandparents for the great holiday we had
