Amazing rainforest setting. Stayed in Everglade units which were 5 star and spacious. Front and back screened verandahs. Washing machine, dryer and full size fridge. Beautiful bathroom products. Staff were fantastic. Buffet breakfast included was excellent. Restaurant menu did not appeal. Toasted ham, cheese and tomato sandwich and the steak sandwich were very bland from lunch menu. Would definitely stay again but would eat lunch and dinner elsewhere.

Dear Robynez50

Thanks for the review and pleased to see you enjoyed your visit. So hard to please 100% of our guests 100% of the time but we do try. The service industry is such a personal view point......some love our fillet steak sandwiches, others not so much. Breakfast generally receives great accolades as well. The staff and the service aspects are very important and I'm pleased that they received your tick of approval which I will pass on to them. Kind regards, John Parche-GM

We stayed here for one night for our wedding anniversary, got a deal on Wotif Deluxe Spa Suite for $395 and from check in to check out it was a fantastic experience. The place is on 45 acres of subtropical rainforest which includes boardwalks, lily gardens, pagodas, beach walk, OMG it's totally amazing.

After checking into the open style foyer with wonderful staff, we walked to our room in the Rivergum Block. Each block has only two levels (ground + one). Each one with their own front and back patio area totally screened in from bugs & mosquitos etc, but open for breezes. Our one bedroom was fully self contained, kitchen, stove, microwave, full size fridge / freezer, washer/dryer, cooking utensils, cutlery etc., coffee machine, toaster, even ice in the freezer!. Kitchen area had a small round table & four chairs, decent size lounge area, walk through dressing room into the bathroom, huge bathtub, dressing gowns, slippers, four towels, bathroom amenities, TV in lounge & bedroom with Foxtel. Big sliding doors & windows to allow nice breezes and bring the rainforest into the room - stunning. You really felt like you were nestled in heaven. No complaints at all. (and a bottle of free celebratory champagne for us!! nice touch).

After walking through the stunning grounds we settled in on the veranda overlooking the pool and into the tropical backdrop, for a relaxing afternoon sipping cocktails.
We ate from the 'bar' menu (restaurant was booked out) which was fantastic, food was delicious, and the service was impeccable. When we got a little chilly we threw one of the provided blankets over us! Again, nice touch.
Beds are very comfy, good pillows, very quiet setting so slept well and waking up to that view, again I say OMG. Didn't have breakfast here so can't speak about that (but I'm sure if it's anywhere near as good as last nights food, it will be delicious).

We have traveled all around the world and this place is certainly up there with the best of them. Although it's a little pricey (for our normal) it's soooooo worth the money. We are definitely staying here again and will bring interstate friends, even it it's to just to enjoy an afternoon / evening enjoying the surroundings and the food.

Thank you to everyone who made our stay absolutely perfect.

Room Tip: Maybe a top room rather than bottom as you can hear people walking around upstairs.

The setting is lovely. Very green and peaceful. The staff very polite and went out of their way to please us.We were five grown ups and three very small children. Enjoyed all the meals we had in the restaurant. The rooms were clean.Hope to return one day.

I have stayed at The Byron three times now but probably enjoyed this most recent stay the most - probably because I needed the down time more than the other times! The rooms are more like mini apartments than rooms and they are so quiet and peaceful - it's like sleeping in the rainforest. It's the best four nights' sleep I've had in years, and have had since. The restaurant is in a lovely setting and inside/outside setting which is great for lovely weather (which is often, of course).
Probably the only downside for me was the swimming pool - on 2 of the days I sat by the pool there were some young kids running everywhere, repeatedly jumping into the pool and splashing people and making a lot of noise. As the pool does not have a lifeguard or staff member, and the parents were nowhere to be seen, it meant you either had to put up with it or leave. I think for a resort of this calibre should have someone keeping an eye on this sort of thing so that all guests feel comfortable.

We had a wonderful but short one night stay in this property and wished we stayed longer. The resort is beautifully set in a huge rainforest with walking platforms winding through it. It is not exactly beach front but this wasn't so important for us especially in winter. We also had dinner in the restaurant which was very nice. The room was huge and nicely appointed. A very lovely stay overall.
