An evening with friends turns out into an amazing culinary experience and a unique discovery of oriental food. The Okura kitchen does exactly this. Exotic Japanese sushi food in the heart of St Julian's, served in an impeccable environment, with a Truly Efficient staff of waitresses that are rightly courteous though dressed as Japanese ‘Cos players of "Sailor moon" the infamous Manga cartoon.
The food is right what you want. and a feast to the eye abundant and beautifully displayed. Healthy with a selection of soups and salads that would make a health centre really envious. I found the sea algae salad a bit too over marinated with a thick sauce that really covers the taste of the seaweed :a simple dash of lemon juice would have been perfect (by my humble opinion). The prawn and soft blue crab tempura sushi were divine though they were soon out of stock. The soups were also excellent. in all honesty there is some kind of fault in this restaurant and it is the very complicated ordering system, which I still need to figure out, But aims at reducing work load and food wastage. in the open kitchen

Definitely worth being there for a truly amazing night

this is quite a quaint little place to have a quick lunch, or to hang out with friends and enjoy the delicious creations one can watch being done on spot. A conveyer belt passes buy and you just choose what you feel like eating.. and when you don't feel like having Sushi, you can go another other part within the restaurant and have one of the delicious Asian curry or noodle dishes. good match of price and quality.

Went there a couple of times , don't expect to have smiling waiters, they "forget" to bring some food you ordered from the fake buffet (you can order twice sushis, once the rest). They cannot be bothered to say bye when you leave...very noisy place, not recommended for couples.

I have now been here on multiple occasions as a couple, work colleagues and with friends. This restaurant never disappoints, the staff are friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and they give you excellent service. The sushi melts in your mouth and I have been around other sushi places around St Julian's and this is the only restaurant that actually gives you what it says on the menu "spicy tuna" roll. My friends have eaten off the menu other than sushi and give it a big thumbs up. Excellent value for money, you never feel rushed to finish your meal. I have watched this restaurant grow in popularity since I have been living on the island. (4 years now) I would recommend it for staff outings, business lunches, friends and family. Worth a try :)
