This is a full-service, grand-style old hotel with an absolutely wonderful location on the shores of the sea. As you arrive, it has very sharply dressed doormen in long grey coats and caps, Tony for one, and there are two fine Concierges, George and Malcolm, who both helped to make our time on Malta very meaningful. George spent a great deal of time exchanging emails to ensure that our plans were almost complete before arriving. The staff had us checked in and on our way to our room very promptly. The one regret during our stay at this fine hotel is that our Titanium status with Marriott's Bonvoy was of very little use to us.
The hotel is some distance from Valletta, say 20 minutes, but there is a bus stand on the street just around to the right of the exit. We paid for the Explorer bus passes, but I do not recommend this. Bus travel is very slow and taxis are relatively inexpensive. We very seldom used the buses because they were not 100% reliable.
The car service available at the Westin is excellent, Elegance Garage has very well kept black, late model, MB E220d's that are more expensive than the white taxis, but much more reliable. The Elegance Garage cars cost 27 euros from the airport while the white taxis at the airport cost 20 euros.
The breakfast buffet offered at the hotel is excellent. We had breakfast there very day. The gentleman in charge of the Terrance Restaurant has done a wonderful job training his staff. You are led to a table, the coffee or drink order is taken, and then you are free to roam among the many delights that are offered for breakfast. When you return with your plate/s, your drinks at already waiting for you. We had a young lady from Spain, Claire, who looked after us day after day. She was wonderful, always nearby and helpful, but never intrusive. We probably ate way too much but everything was so delicious.
The pool and all the seaside amenities are clean, well-kept, plentiful and you are right there at the edge of the Mediterranean Sea. Truly enjoyable. We loved the cone-shaped sun shelters. It is a delightful place for families and there were several families with young children there all week long.
The Concierge Lounge on the 8th floor has a fine view of the sea and the promenade to Valletta and is a great place for a drink prior to going to dinner.
Simply put, the Westin Dragonara is a delightful place to vacation. We enjoyed it tremendously.

Room tip: The suites in the center section, of course, have the best views.

This hotel was very comfortable, upmarket and I felt at home there. We loved the suite and the fabulous sea views from the balcony. There are a few pools to choose from but the one I loved the best was the Reef Club, which was actually in the Mediterranean Sea. The service was excellent and we were served very well by the very attentive Pam Borg and her lovely staff at the executive lounge. It made our stay there very special. Would love to go there again.

This is a beautiful hotel with very friendly staff. I must say it’s one of the cleanest hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The rooms are very comfortable with great views. From breakfast to dinner and even the snacks in the lobby bar, the food is tasty! The location is good but be aware that the local traffic can make challenging so let some else do the driving and just close your eyes!

One of the best hotels in Malta, all worth of those four stars. Clean and spacious rooms, friendly staff and tasty breakfast. We spent days relaxing on the seafront, lying in the sun on our sunbeds. There are plenty of nice restaurants close to the hotel where you can enjoy dinner. Relaxing stay. Recommended!

Room tip: Try to get rooms towards sea, not towards tennis courts.
