We stayed for a night at this hotel during transit, courtesy of Sri Lankan Airlines. It is close to Negumbo beach, but not on the beach. The entrance is right at street level and look somewhat tacky. It is not a fancy hotel by any means but I suppose it is ok for the money. I would give it three stars. The airlines had given us coupons for lunch and dinner. The restaurant / dining area is again right off the street and open to public. Ambience of the dining area is not great. Though the menu had listed a variety of options, our meal coupon provided by the airlines gave us no choice but a fixed menu of rice, curry and a small salad. I did not find it very appetizing. Then for dinner we were offered exactly the same thing and when I informed the waiter that I would rather walk up the road to some other restaurant, she discussed with the manager who agreed to switch rice with noodle. We did not have breakfast there as we had to catch an early morning flight. We were given a room on the third floor. As there are no lifts we had to climb up two three flights of steps. The room had a bit of sea view from the front veranda. The room was by no means fancy, but adequate and fairly clean. There is a good sized swimming pool and the hotel is within walking distance to the beach. There are a lot of better hotels and restaurants within walking distance. Colombo city is around 45 minutes drive from here. The front office staff was courteous, but the waitress in the restaurant seemed disinterested and detached.
