“Charming, comfortable, we didn't want to leave!”
Reviewed 4 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

This is a beautiful house, plenty of space and incredibly well equipped. Noeleen is a fabulous host, helpful but never intrusive. She took us to a local winemakers tasting, and also recommended a local concert, which we really enjoyed. The courtyard garden, where we had dinner and drinks, is just beautiful, and keeps the summer heat at bay! Not too much choice of restaurants locally, but there's a small supermarket, baker, chemist etc, everything you need. A great base for exploring the area, we took a boat on the canal, beach days at Portiragnes and Sete, and don't forget to visit to little school museum in Puisserguier.

“Fantastic Host and Fantastic House”
Reviewed 29 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We have just returned from our stay at Cheznoeleen and would recommend to our family and friends. The house has everything you could need, spotlessly clean and a host who is warm, friendly and so helpful. The location was perfect in a quiet village and central for sightseeing.

Review for Noeleen

Was made to feel welcome from the moment I pulled up outside on the day of arrival. Noeleen was the perfect, warm and friendly host. The house is lovely. Comfortable, spotlessly clean, well equipped and well situated in a perfectly quiet street only a couple of minutes to the village's amenities. Noeleen shared all of her extensive local knowledge which greatly added to our enjoyment of, the many local attractions, best local wines, restaurants and generally make the most of our stay. We enjoyed many balmy evenings around the table in the lovely garden, sipping the extraordinarily good value local wines. I enjoyed three glorious weeks and will undoubtedly be back, if only for the hospitality , peace and quiet, and local ambience, having seen most of the sights.

“a joy!”
Reviewed 9 February 2015 for a stay in January 2015

It is always difficult to write a review that is full of praise because it sometimes sounds like you are going OTT! In this case I can't do much else! We first came here in 2014 and loved it so much we returned. On a practical note it is remarkably clean and the fully enclosed walled garden is superbly safe for our two small dogs and is sufficiently sheltered to enjoy the sun sat outside for a breakfast or lunch - a delightful small garden. The house has a lovely homely feel with the high ceilings and big windows giving a sense of brightness and space.and as keen foodies being able to buy at so many local markets and having all the necessary equipment in the kitchen to prepare these ingredients is brill! Noeleen is really obliging without ever being intrusive and I would advise any visitor to listen to her recommendations! The patisserie in Capestang might well be the best in France (gets my vote!!) as are the fish & cheese stalls on Puisserguier market (don't miss Les Halles, Narbonne on Sunday morning!). We rarely return anywhere but we not only came back here we are already talking about doing exactly the same next year!!

“Home with a Heart”
Reviewed 1 October 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We have recently returned from a 17 day stay at Chez Noeleen. For the first week we were accompanied by our 21 year old Daughter and her 22 year old boyfriend and for the last 10 days we were 'a deux'. From the moment I made contact with Noeleen to discuss dates, I felt as if I was talking to an old friend. She immediately puts you at your ease and once you arrive is at pains to make sure you want for nothing during your stay, whilst at the same time keeping a pretty low profile. The house is equipped with everything you may have need of during your stay. It was more that comfortable for three six foot plus adults to sit during the late evening and stayed beautifully cool during the heat of the day. Noeleen is happy to give guidance on places to see, Carcassonne (if you don't mind the crowds) Roquebrun if you fancy some river swimming. She will be able to tell you the best produce markets in the area, but keeps it a secret where she manages to forage for delicious green and also purple figs, that she seems more than happy to share. It's like having your very own tour guide in residence. We found the two local bars very welcoming. There's a small but well stocked supermarket in town and an excellent bakery. We are happy to live the 'local life', but the youngsters hankered for some City Scenes and they headed off to Monpelier for the day to take in the galleries and museums. An easy trip by train from Bezier or for the earlier riser hop on the bus from Puisserguier to Beziers and then take the train. The options are limitless. Whether you want to head for the sea, the mountains or the city they are all well within a reasonable drive. Visit Chez Noeleen and you will in the care of "The Hostess with the Mostest". Thanks for being so generous with your home Noeleen x
