We stayed in the house with our two young daughters, friends and their young children.
Although I was a little nervous about the lack of electricity, the break from technology and the real world made this holiday all the more special.
We stocked up on food before we went and filled the fridge and freezer. The gas lights and cooker were easy to use and as we were there in June, we were more than warm enough, with a fire in the evening on colder days.
We spent a wonderful week, climbing the mountain, crabbing in the rock pools, seal spotting on the boat, with a couple of day trips to the mainland thrown in for good measure. The caretaker very kindly lent us a fishing rod and the fresh mackerel breakfasts were another highlight.
A wonderful week. Would highly recommend it.
