A hearty welcome when we walked in, the staff were so busy but made time to say hello and let us know that they would be soon taking our order. There was so much choice on the menu it was hard to decide. However the Lamb Soulaki was tasty and filling and the crumbed barramundi had a delicious salad. I could still taste the flavour well after i had eaten. It was terrific. Such a lovely atmosphere with a wide verandah and beautiful countryside around Kin Kin. Well worth the drive or hire a bike and take the lovely tracks in the area to Tewantin/Noosa.

Hi Maree P,

Glad you enjoyed our farm shop & restaurant. Happy to know our staff are doing their job well, the customer service training has paid off. Yes the lamb souvlaki is one of my favourites as well and all our free range meats come from the local Kin Kin farm. I'm glad you've had time to check out the walking, bike, horse tracks that are in the area, so many beautiful locations. Next time check out the local art galleries and gardens that are open to the public on weekends.

We hope to see you again soon, from the Kin Kin General Store Team

I found this place on the web while checking out a drive from the Sunshine Coast with some friends. Just 1 hour from Kawana through some beautiful country we found Kin Kin. The General Store is 1 of only 2 businesses in town. The other being the Kin Kin Hotel - also worth a visit for its memorabilia.
But I digress, The food from the General Store was top notch. I had the Roasted Vegetable Soup with sour dough bread - very large bowl of very flavoursome and comforting soup for a rainy, cold April day. My partner had Thai Prawns with Risotto- he was very impressed and commented how unexpectedly the risotto went with the Thai prawns. My female friend had the beef salad - it was huge and the beef was so tender and her partner had the barrimundi with guacamole - yummy. All in all a great trip. The service was prompt and friendly and the prices were good too. We'll definitely be taking other friends up for a visit soon.

Amazing choice from the menu, with added specials. The food is second to none and would be up there with a hatted restaurant- a special place for a long lunch. It is also licensed, with a minimal choice. Would be good to see a local wine on the menu. Food is fresh and delicious and caters to all tastebuds, including a kids menu.

Loved the coffee, the welcome we got, the friendliness of the townspeople & visitors alike, and the relaxed feeling. A must if you are passing by, or if you are near - take a small detour at least for Coffee.

We have now been to three Black Ant themed dinners - and they just get better. We have had French, Middle Eastern and Thai dinners and have enjoyed them all. The last was superb, with a mixed starter, three mains to choose from (Thai Beef Salad, Chicken Curry and Pork Belly), and one of the three desserts. Everything was amazing (having tried all the dishes!) and we will be back for the next.
