We stayed in the hotel (which is super!) and decided to have dinner in the hotel. Well... starting... it is a challenge to know when the restaurant opens because it’s not a standard schedule. The service was very bad. The main waiter came to take the order and he was rushing us to chose and even trying to decide for us by suggesting and writing down the plates even without us telling him what we would like go have.
The appetizers were well served on quality and quantity. The main dishes were not tasty at all. At the end we asked for a grappa as digestive — something that would be completely normal in ANY Italian restaurant— and for our surprise: no grappa at all. They offered a very bad liquor instead. A bad service for such a nice hotel!!!! Very disappointing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the calm setting. We started with the local cheese plate and a margherita pizza both of which were very fresh and tasty. From there we had pasta with aubergine, roasted vegetables and spitfire pork. All were delicious. We ended with coffees and the dessert trio and panna cotta. Only complaint was having to chase for the bill so much that we had to ask the owner who was not too happy to help. It also was odd to have the owner at the start of the meal to offer to show us around the masseria after the meal, to then at the end just be handed a business card and shown the door. These interactions with the owner put me and my wife off at the idea of staying at the masseria in the future should the owner show such lacklustre customer service. But again the food is great!

Slightly good place, nearby Caprarica the best choice to eat, near the only one . But there are some problems with the accomodation, the room was quiete small for three adults, the third bed was in a cupboard , inspite of we booked a triple room not a room with double and an addictional bed. The rooms are not separated, the walls are thin , you should listen your neibours include all of the bathroom and toilet noise.... The room service was quite low, beacause the towels and linen were not changed. Anyway there was no possibilities to sit outside because there are no terace and even no furniture for it. The last day we coudn't have breakfast at 7:30 , because the door was closed and we coudn't get in, nobody was there. Finally, it suggested to replace the deficiency to have a higher rank.

I've been at the Masseria Stali more than once and every time I fall in love with the new recipes created to intensify the high quality of the genuine produce.
The management is absolutely caring, satisfying also the most demanding customer (I was with a friend with some food allergy and they offered him great alternatives and not the usual "pomodoro pasta").
Also, I'd advise to buy the extra virgin olive oil produced there, after you try it salads won't be the same again!

The place was beautiful with a lovely garden from which you can see the greek ruins nearby. We had typical starter that had both fish and meat, but not impressive in terms of savour. We went for a pizza which was good and had a local beer from a "birrificio" in Lecce (a bit expensive though). Service was overall good and quick, but we were not offered the home made rosolio like all the other customers around us. Probably because they thought we were speaking english and we wouldn't notice they were offering to all the other tables.
