My wife and I stayed at Woodfarm Barns with our dogs Henry and Bertie for a long stay. This was our 6th Stay at Woodfarm Barns with the next visit already booked up. Woodfarm Barns has that personal touch with a greeting from Carl Scott to start with, You can do as much or as little as you like. There are plenty of walks, restaurants, antibque shops and pubs to visit and then there are other places to go in surrounding villages that will make your Stay a memorable one. There are also a number of places to take the dogs if so desired.
All in all Woodfarm Barns is a place to stay for any occasion. on certain times of the year there is also a pop up restaurant.
We were delighted when we arrived at Woodfarm Barns and saw our accomodation. The collection of little barns is grouped around a pretty communal area and it is all very pretty. We stayed in Stour Barn, a really cosy barn consisting of a lounge-diner, a bedrom and shower room. It was beautifully presented and had everything we needed for our three night stay and i was really chuffed at the Christmas decorations dotted around too. The kitchen area is small but had everything we wanted and included a lovely breakfast hamper. We loved the wood burner, though the underfloor heating meant the barn was beautifully warm. Stour Barn has a private, enclosed garden and a split door, which would be lovely in warmer weather. There were so many nice touches, making this feel very special. I'd highly recommend it.
The whole cottage experience was faultless from start to finish. Carl was super helpful about local pubs etc proceeding arrival . The greeting we got on arrival was friendly but not over the top ( a bug bear of mine) . The breakfast hamper and food left was spot on . The cottage was totally superb and dog friendly ( without the dog whiff!!) . Couldn't recommend enough and this is literally the first time I have felt compelled to leave a review on trip advisor . Carl greeted us on arrival which made us feel so welcome. We haven't been away for years as it's so difficult with 4 dogs! Nothing was too much bother for Carl and the barn was gorgeous. Festively decorated with a gorgeous dairy hamper awaiting our arrival. We can't wait to go back in the spring so we can enjoy the lovely garden room and evening walks. Highly recommended
Came here for my 10 year anniversary and couldn't have asked for more.
We met Carl when we arrived and he showed us to our barn. We stayed in the Orwell barn and it was just beautiful. The barn was cosy and warm with under floor heating. It had been subtly dressed for Christmas and we had our very own Christmas tree too.
We had everything there we could possibly need. There was also a welcome breakfast basket. The bacon was gorgeous as were the home made biscuits.
Carl let us know how to work the hot tub and told us about the shed nearby that had DVDs, Books and loads of leaflets to let you know about the surrounding areas.
Carl was the perfect host and such a nice man.
