The property is situated only minutes off the main road and overlooks the loch which changes as the tide ebbs and flows. The cottage itself is maintained to a very high standard of decor and cleanliness. Everything you need has being provided by the owners Colin and Christine both we meet and are very friendly and offered us good advise on places to eat and places to visit to find wildlife.
Colin pointed me in the direction of where to see wild stag. What a sight !!
The area is a photographers delight and plenty to do and see to keep the family occupied and happy. More than happy to recommend this cottage to anyone looking to visit this part of beautiful Scotland and we will return so i suppose thats as good a recommendation as anyone can give.
Thank you Colin and Christine we enjoyed our Highland experience and you hospitality.

Nia roo is a truly stunning place. The cottage was spotlessly clean and has everything you could wish for in it! The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable and the power showers are great. The kitchen is big and modern and has everything u need. mornings and evenings were spent in the sun room watching the ever changing views over the loch and greenest hills I have ever seen. We had a visit from the local sheep and we were on otter watch most evenings but sadly no sightings. Kyle of localsh is the nearest place to shop, the co-op is there but the local butchers does fantastic steaks and sausages! We also went on a wildlife watching trip from there and managed to see several porpoise and seals. The scenery is amazing and a drive to glenelg for lunch in the glenelg inn is a must. Plenty of places to eat out and about but the table with the best views by far was in the cottage itself!! I would definitely recommend nia roo, when you get there you will see why!!

“A wonderful place!”

A newly built house with 3 bedrooms in a beautiful scenery. Two of the bedrooms have double bed and the other one has two single beds. The kitchen it very spacious and completely full equipped. Only thing missing is a sharp kitchen knife. And the beds are comfy. Very clean as well.
The scenery outside is just stunning with surrounding high mountains and loch Duich with its tidal change that can be enjoyed from the house. There are sheep on the mountain nearby and some of them have found a shortcut to the lowlands via the house, so occasionally there will be curious visitors.
The Eilean castle is about 15 min drive away and Kyle of lochalsh is 25min, where a large coop supermarket is situated. Loch Ness is 1h 20min. 2 gas stations are also available in the 10min vicinity.

We had problem finding the house, most due to we were distracted by the scenery and the google maps are a bit incorrect, the house is on the right side when coming from fort William and not left as indicated by the google maps.

Also is you are going to plockton, we really recommend pulling over for few minutes in the cute village Duirinish, experiencing the highland cattle who are roaming free in the village and blocking cars.

Nia Roo is a stunning property with everything you could ever need to make your stay in a wonderful setting very comfortable and relaxing. The cottage is finished to a very high standard in every respect and is situated in the perfect place to explore some of the finest scenery you could wish to see.
Christine and Colin are always on hand for advise on the area or offers to visit their Highland cattle,Lambs, or Red Deer which visit the area all the time.We saw Otters from the cottage window in the estuary as well as seals. There are endless walks on the doorstep and so many great places to vist, a week was not long enough.Nia Roo is a great cottage in every respect, you wont be disapointed and we will be booking again.

“Fantastic place”
Reviewed 16 April 2013 for a stay in April 2013

Loved the house, very spacious, great standard and lovely views. Christine and Colin very hospitable, and took them up on seeing the highland cows and stags being fed-brilliant. A lovely site with a great view, great for touring around Skye and lochalah. House spotless and well appointed-website pictures don't give the feeling of how much space there actually is. Would definitely stay again
