We had one of our worst experiences is Lombok Zen Villa.
Firstly the villa sleeps 4 in the main building. There is a guesthouse 70 meters away, in the garden, but outside one of the gates. Since we were two families with two children, there was a problem as to who would sleep there.
The “villa” is like a prison: rails outside the windows, dark and gloomy. There was a dark courtyard outside the kitchen that gave us the chills. Apart from the bedsheets, which were indeed clean, the rest of the villa was dirty: dead insects below the furniture, the cutlery in an open box on the kitchen counter, huge spider webs in the kitchen cabinets. The bathrooms in all black tiles.
From 3am and from every hour since, the imam would not let us sleep.
The staff of the “villa” was two young men, one of who offered to move us around with his father’s in law car. He didn’t understand a word of English, he was very lazy, we had to pay not only for the agreed fee, but also for the fuel, the tips and everything and he didn’t want to wait for us for more than two hours.
During our last night in Lombok Zen Villa, a storm erupted and the roof of our friends’ bedroom flooded. So we had to sleep four people on our bed: me and my husband, our daughter and our friends’ daughter.
What an experience!
We had prepaid for 7 nights but we only managed to stay 3. We lost about 600 euros, but we didn’t regret it at all, as we felt relieved when we left.
I certainly do not recommend Lombok Zen Villa at all!
