The rooms are simple and nice and have a good view and you can hear the ocean all day.
The fish ponds around the rooms are a nice idea, but need at least a minimum up keeping. The plants are in poor condition and I would like to take this opportunity to again suggest that the administration should advise the staff NOT TO WASH THE MOPS AND BUCKETS WITH DIRTY WATER AND DETERGENT ON THE FISH PONDS THAT SURROUND THE ROOMS. The water in the pond is dirty, the fish clearly suffer and are often gasping for air at the surface.
There are far better and nicer locations on the island. It's not easy to find any place to eat within reasonable walking distance and I strongly advise to you to book a car.
You need to get through 2 ferries to get here from Krabi and you should count on the possibility that one of them has problems. We had to wait 7 hours in the car for one of the ferries to be repaired.
Care should be taken with reservations of motorbikes at the hotel. The prices are considerably higher than in other places and there's no help at all in case you need it (we had a puncture), you are completely on your own without any help or advise other than "You fix it" from the manager.
We had the whole beach to ourselves most of the time. It tends to accumulate lots or dirt and if you're looking to clear waters, you should book an excursion to nearby islands or remain at the pool.
Strolls on the beach reveal an ugly backside to the line of "hotels" that follow the this short stretch of coastline. The worst slums of Bangkok would provide a better view.
