“Great holiday home”
Reviewed 23 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We arrived about 8pm as the traffic from the port was terrible so unfortunately we missed meeting the owners in person, however they did call us and told us how to gain access in their absence. It was still very warm so it was lovely to open the gate to such a wonderful garden; enclosed (good for our dog), grass and flowers tidy and in full bloom and the pool! My boys, aged 12 and 15 wasted no time in taking a dip. Brilliant. The house itself was very good. Spacious with everything you could want, including wifi. We also had a homemade tart and a bottle of local cider left for us as well as some milk. The weather was really good too. 5 out of 5 for accommodation. The town of Cleder is pretty sleepy so not much happening but we were happy with that. Also has a local boulangerie and boucherie as well as the supermarket which we were pleased to know opened on Sunday mornings from 9.30 until 12.30. Great place and thoroughly recommended.

“Lovely lovely little spot”
Reviewed 28 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We spent a lovely week here in end of July/early August. The weather wasn't great (hey we're used to it right?) but the house and the location were great.

It was me, my husband, a 10 year old, a 14 year old and our little border terrier.

The property was perfect for our needs - cozy, good living space, pool, outdoor dining and fully fenced for the dog. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen equipped with everything you'd need, there was a blue-tooth speaker so we could all listen to our music while playing cards when it was raining. There was a lovely open fire which came in handy when we stuck inside from the rain. It's full of character and is simply a very pleasant place to stay.

We met the owner who came over to check on the pool - very friendly and helpful and even gave us some free firewood. He had great recommendations of things to do while there - Isle de Batz was a wonderful day out and we wouldn't have know about it if the owner didn't tell us about it.

Roscoff is 15 mins drive away (perfect if you've taken the ferry from Plymouth like we did) and has great restaurants and is generally very pleasant. Cleder is cute and a five min walk to the centre of the village where you'll find a boulangerie and charcuterie. It has a very good supermarket also which was very helpful.

Nearby beaches are fab - golden sands, nice and empty, clean and friendly.

I saw some reviews talk about the pool being cold - we found it fine if we kept the cover on when not in use. The sun deck area is perfect for an afternoon drink after a swim. It gets the sun till very late into the evening.

If you're after a relaxing stay in a lovely area of northern france that is friendly, laid back but still with plenty to do then I'd recommend this as a great place for you and the family to stay.

Thanks!!

“A cozy French getaway”

We stayed at Ferme-manoir de Pont-Jegu during the wettest week of the summer in Brittany, so we got to know this lovely stone house well.

The kitchen is well equipped with a great oven and plenty of space on the kitchen island.
The downstairs bathroom has a toilet and a very good shower, with a good washing machine which came in handy spinning wet clothes from the rain!

The lounge is spacious with a massive stone fireplace, which we actually got to use to warm the downstairs as it was unseasonable cool.

The 3 bedrooms are a good size and so is the main bathroom with the two sinks and large corner bath.

The outside garden area is really lovely with the plunge pool (not heated), a nice decking area around it and the stone patio. Our Labrador came with us and having the garden completely enclosed with the walls and fence was brilliant, he could be left without the fear of him escaping.

We enjoyed our stay here very much, there are a few things though that could be improved. The beds came with one square pillow per person, which is not ideal and we actually went and brought more for the some members of our group. I know this sounds trivial to some, but not when you have family members in their 60s sleeping with three pillows.

My bed was one of the single beds in the twin room, I think the mattresses had seen days but was surprisingly pretty comfy and for kids it would be fine.

The 3 seat sofa and the 3 additional chairs were a little tired, not ideal for 6 adults but fine for a family with younger children.

The hot water is heated at night in a large tank, (I am guessing about 250 litres) once the water has been used up that's it gone until the following morning. We found out the hard way, when four of us had hot baths to warm up from the persistent rain on the second day of the stay. We arrived late on our arrival and departed early on our departure so did not get a chance to meet the owners who would have probably told us this. We did call them and they did explain the above, they were friendly and left us a lovely Breton flan ready for when we arrived.

The town of Cléder is lovely and has a great supermarket, a good butcher, great boulangerie and a very good pizza restaurant. There are plenty of deserted beaches within a 15 minutes drive which are brilliant for dog walking. If you are bringing a dog the Vets in Saint-Pol-de-Léon is very good and knew the procedure for dog's passport ( Vets has moved from the location on Google maps)

This house is full of rustic charm, we enjoyed our stay despite the awful weather and I would defiantly recommend a stay here.

“Fantastic!”

We had a fantastic time staying in the beautiful Ferme-manoir de Pont-Jegu! The stone fire, beautiful garden and well equipped house was a great home from home. We loved exploring the nearby beaches, they were gorgeous and the sea was very clear! Pool was a bit on the cold side but it didn't detract from the fun we had. François and his wife were very friendly and helpful, full of good tips and the house keeper was welcoming as well. Would definitely recommend a visit here!
